Losing Shrimp at a very Fast Rate

I would be more concerned you are overfeeding/over compensating. These were established plants from another tank right? If you rub your finger on the plants or the inside of the glass, is it smooth or does it have a slippery film?

So on my way home today I am going to get a copper test kit, some reef liquid stuff that people say will add iodine to the water for the shrimp. When I get home I am going to do a gravel vac to clean up as many bodies and food scraps as I can find. Then I am going to take a bunch of clippings from my 29 gallon and float them in the tank. This should have the biofilm and algae on it you guys were talking about. I think that will pretty much cover every possiblilty. I will let you guys know tomorrow if I wake up to anymore dead ones.

i really dont' think you need to add iodine to the water unless you are using straight ro (and not even sure if you would then). I never have. Copper test, great idea. Clean up and new plants, excellent idea.

1 is a anubias petite, but the eclipse had twice as much anubias petite and a anubias fazeri or something like that, taller skinner anubias, and they would peck at it all the time without seeing any dead ones.

Good luck and let me know if you ever get it figured out. I have been dealing with this issue and yellow shrrimp for 6 months now and have gone through 3 batches of yellow shrimp. Honestly, it is completely baffling since I have a colony of RCS and Blue Pearls going just fine. Somehow, the yellows never last longer than a month in this 20 long that I have and I have no clue why. I even went out and bought the copper test kit about a month ago, and zero copper in the water. I am about to give up on the yellows and go with some green caradina instead, but I have been wavering. Might go with the greens and see if they survive in the tank. If they do, I might add some yellows too. These dying yellows and the great die off of my fish in my 75 about 2 years ago really leave me scratching my head about how they happen.

I have amanos and blue pearls in a tank with 2 anubias and haven't had any issues. I think the theory about anubias (and cryptocoryne, for that matter) harming shrimp is mostly unsubstantiated myths.
