Name that one fish that you totally regret getting...

Well at the moment it's my Polleni. As he grows he's getting more aggressive. He has a male Convict Cichlid trapped in a flowerpot most of the day. He just won't leave him alone. But the con holds his own in the flowerpot. When I added the polleni the con kicked his butt but now the tables have turned...

I have to agree with you VF. I loved my Polleni male, but mine too grew more aggressive the more he grew. Remember? I tried to give him to you. Fortunately for me, I was able to rehome him with a guy who lives about an hour away and has a breeding program for them. My understanding is that my male is now quite the ladies man............up until he tries to kill the female. Which with Polleni happens quite often. I guess that is why they are extinct in the wild.

my lungfish. bought him as a newb. was told he'd never out grow my 30g. now closing in on 30". tried to sell him for a short time but no one was interested in a ginormous fish that could potentially snap off all your fingers at once. now i have a 2'x6' rubbermaid container in my kitchen instead of a table and chairs and i have to keep it gated off all the time so the kids don't get into it.

Australian Rainbows. They were a complete impulse buy, and not good ones either. They were aggressive, nipping other fish, and forget about feeding any slower fish in the tank. I was growing a Ctenopoma out in a divided section of the tank, but I couldn't let him out with the Rainbows. I resisted the urge to bring them back to Petland, where they would rot, and brought them to Shark Aquarium in New Jersey where they will get good care and hopefully a good home. But in the meantime, they have good tankmates, good food and clean water. I got some Yoyos and a Flash Pleco that day too :D

Fantail Goldfish. Woke up one morning to find it swimming around in the tank with a full grown pregnant platty in it's mouth.

umm, lets see, Blue Damsels (salt water) will be on this list now, i got one and it killed off my entire school of green chromis (also SW). IF YOU ARE GOING SW DONT GET DAMSELS!

Red Flame Dwarf Gourami. They're just so freaking peaceful. NOT! Mine is one of the most beautiful fish, but I hate it's guts. I have a peaceful community tank where my main focus is breeding platies. I have a few other tetras and cories, but this is the one that ate all of my platy fry. At the beginning, I thought I would buy it a female friend. (This one is a male). It pulled an OJ and stressed it to the point of death. It also killed by biting off chunks 5 guppies. It's killed at least 5 neons, which I replace, by biting off their tails. I just don't have the heart to get rid of it though. I'm considering getting a 5 or 10 gallon just for it.

My skunk loach killed all 3 loaches while I was away for the weekend:( He went back to store where they said they were "non-aggressive"

Then hubby came home with a puffer that ate chunks off my kuhlis:( He went back to the store:)

Now I have 2 angels that bully my 55, they are huge, cant wait till their days pass

prob a cray fish lol, it was trying to pinch at my fish and it freaking put leaves all over the bottom of my aquarium so i chopped off one of its big arms the first day (sounds pretty gruesome ha ha, the next day i just threw him out my 2 story window and never saw him since.. :)

Whoah! That's... an interesting way of dealing with it. Good job .

that's horrible. next time you want to get rid of something, just kill it humanely. you don't have to torture it.
