Beautiful Angels! I still regret passing on a bonded pair at the last fish auction I went too.....even though I really had no place to put them at the time!! They are so freakin' pretty!! I love the DD makes me want another tank!!
Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. We were thrilled to get this pair a short while ago. They were pretty beaten up and had badly split tails when we found them. They healed up fast, though, and surprised us with their first batch of eggs.... which they decided to eat a day or two later. lol.
That's hard to say. The eggs were laid Friday and those pics were taken Saturday night. You can see the fungus was already spreading. They hatched into wigglers today (yay!!) but I could only save about a hundred of them. We have those in a 10 gallon where I could treat for fungus, keep the water pristine, and stop their snaily neighbors from gliding over them. Of those remaining... so far, so good.
Since the first batch of eggs got eaten so fast, we weren't completely sure the male was actually male.. or even fertile. For now, we're just happy to verify they're a good matched pair for breeding.
