So, my puppy LOVES to eat w/e fish die, and I was wondering if Feeder goldfish were safe to feed non-fish pets? She is a 13lbs dog and was thinking of feeding her them once a week as an actual dinner or something.
Anyone?

LOL!!! Do you really feed your dog dead fish?

"I" don't feed her, I put it/them aside and she flies past, grabs them and out the door to the yard she goes with them.
Plus, there is no reason not to feed fish to dogs. Fish oil is good for skin and cats sometimes hunt fish. Heck, lots of animals eat them, I don't see why not.
She got to a live fish that jumped out of a tank long ago and played with it in the yard until she figured out how to kill it. Shes a fast little booger, couldn't catch her and either way, fish had more holes in it than window screens I'm sure.

With a small dog of 13 lbs., I would be concerned about the bones. If you feel the need to feed the dog fish, I would go with fillets rather than feeders. While the dog may like freshly killed fish, it's insides may not. The bones can puncture the lining of the stomach all the way to the intestines.

Not to mention you would have to devote your own tank space to raising such feeders since I wouldn't trust those found in stores to be healthy. I'm not sure of the risk of transmittance between fish and dogs (if there really is any) but it's not a good idea to buy store bought feeders even for fish IMO.

It has less to do with feeding fish to dogs, and more to do with what bacteria can inhabit aquariums and the fish that reside in them. We're not talking fresh salmon from a whitewater rapid, we're talking a slimy little goldfish from joe's petshop.

Ok, it was just a question.
And uncooked bones are safe. It's the cooked ones that are bad, since they become brittle and splinter.
