Mafia #69: Ghost Hunters Game Thread

why would you practically give away who you would be investigating for the mafia to see?

Whats it matter? They will be seeing their names on the list, not much they can do about it.

I totally read it differently and was confused. That is why I thought it was a typo. To me it was sounding like he was saying he totally agreed that FF should send in investigations. His post B clarified it, maybe I have the understanding of a 4 year old. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and will assume I just read what he was saying wrong. Also, I need more sleep, makes reading easier when you get some...

What he said was odd imo. It's got me playing a huge game of WIFOM with what he said. Why do you not think it's a mind game he's playing? I don't see why more people aren't bothered by this or are willing to brush it off, so I keep bringing that up. I don't trust Ice one bit and cannot figure out his motivations if he's truly innocent.

I am sooooo glad you're able to know what Ice meant. Maybe you're the clairvoyant one. When I read them they said opposite things. The problem with the internet is that you don't hear enunciation, try reading that sentence with pauses in a different spot and you'll see what I was reading.

I'm so glad everyone is so much better at reading than I am. And I tried to move on but you all seem stuck on berating my reading skills. Hukked on fonicks werked fer me!

Also, you must not have played many games with me if you're surprised that when I see something odd I'll keep going at it for a while...

I call it like I see it. At least a couple other people in this town aren't ignoring Ice's odd request.
Nope...haven't played many games with you I think this is the second. I pulled Ices post, after going back to reread what he said...he didn't actually "request" anything. Pretty much he made a statement. I dont trust Ice (or anyone for that matter) either, never do. I just don't think what he said was so odd to keep going on about it.
I welcome a lynching. That way I can send in investigations. If the Gunslinger game taught me anything I do better just sitting back and watching with no reason to feel I need to post in a way that it can't be turned against me.
So if anyone thinks I'm protecting FF because we are both evil or that I'm evil and know FF is innocent then get on with it.

Yes the spirits do get to know the role as well.

Oh daer, im not gonna make it as a spirite!

I Love Mollies...care to add anything else??? you have not posted anything relevant to the game or whats been going on.

Ok i havent posted anything relevant so...... Wait i said game on or something didnt i? if not (pause) oh here we go I vote FF

It needs a "To Lynch" between vote and FF.

All this talk of mind games and wording is giving me a headache. I think ill vote later, and i am starting to see a team in here.

Ice, Wiz, and DD.
OR
LR, Mael, and other.

They seem to be "understanding" and "connecting" more so then the rest.

I retract my vote for FF and vote to lynch LabRat.

My reasons for this are simple:

She is voting Ice, because she thinks he is playing mind games.

She had an agenda to twist Ice's posts, when it was clear to any reasonable person what his plan has been all along and what he meant by his post.

Lab knew the plan, in fact, isn't that why she voted Ice in the first place?

care to expand on this a little?

I believe that last time it was explained to you it is customary to give a reason for the way you are voting.

Otherwise it looks like you are just placing a "safe" vote or trying to hide in amongst others.

That is deemed to be scummy behavior and could get you lynched. This is a lynch hungry group of players.

g/o sorry guys, for my absence. I have been pretty busy with work even in my evening hours. We supervisors are having a celebration for Social Worker Appreciation month and my time has been consumed with planning and prep. This event is over today thank goodness, so I should be on the game more.....g/o

I've done some backtracking... have gone through the thread post by post to pick some nits.

This post from FF was addressed to me.

How is leaving a vote on an innocent not bad for scum? (not saying he is, just that it would be bad for a scum member)

I will also say this : how many people want ME as the guy who invest first? (this is to innocents only)

This turns out to have been an important post for 2 reasons:

(1) It continued the fussing that started between JL and FF. Result = FF now leads the votes for lynch. Similar situation as we've seen before... just a different game.

(2) Here's where someone (FF) first raised the question whether (IF innocent) he's a good person to (die and) choose investigations for the psychic. Result = FF still leads the votes + but Ice also drew several votes after commenting about this (later on).

Then...

I read where Mael asked FF why he's so concerned what other people think of JL, saying that's why FF is being questioned so much.

Good point, i was trying to get him to see that it was stupid to vote for me it will just bring him down to so he should just unvote me or sumsuch. Of course now im defending myself like i always do and when i go on defense i always get lynched.

That single statement (in red) appears to be FF's real reason behind his weird posts. On this basis, I can accept that. It's a simple, straightforward answer, finally, that explains what FF was trying to accomplish (just ineffectively). I believe this is a true statement from FF. He simply wanted to somehow convince JL to back off and leave him alone. FF just didn't know how to get JL to remove his vote.

You post scummy things...that's what gets you lynched. Just like you've posted this game.

Yes, it was. But he had the advantage of being on a scum team with Ice so it's not like he was on his own for his first game. He should now know how it works, hence his noob card is no longer valid.

I agree FF makes scummy statements. I do not agree this automatically means he's scum. In his case, as usual, we need to decide whether FF posted scummy things this time because he's evil or simply because he lacks the ability to think of compelling arguments when he feels he needs to. Not an easy task for any of us to do.

After this, JL pulled FF's posts to pick them apart. Results = (1) Yup, FF said scummy things that are contradictory. Am I surprised? Nope. Does that make FF evil? Not necessarily. (2) In doing so, JL justified leaving his "joke vote" on FF instead of going somewhere else or doing much of anything else that might lead him (or us) to potential scum suspects. (3) Of course, JL has also drawn 5 other people to join him against FF with their votes.

Of those names, I expect someone will turn out to be mafia. JL is a good possibility for suspicion for pointing us in this direction. And JL knows FF well enough to understand that taking everything FF says literally will make him (FF) look like scum.

JL... are you planning to leave your vote where it is?

really quick before my meeting begins...

I really need to take a shower but I remembered reading something while I skimmed for questions posted to me.

This post bothers me. Noods is pointing to voting FF but doesn't. Also throws in the DD/Mael banter. I see she is putting out thoughts that is fine. But Noods isn't saying anything. She is hiding in the middle and being non committal. FF is scummy looking but I don't think he is scum but I think he might be.
Her opinion of the DD/Mael statement makes me wonder which one she is setting up to vote for?

For now till I get a better read I vote to lynch Noods.

Ice, you have got to be kidding! I was merely putting my early day one thoughts out there and I was not ready to vote at that point. Just because i am cautious or leery of someone does not mean i need to vote there ASAP. apparently being non committal is my play style. guess i am jsut wishy washy, kinda like a wet noodle! :lipssealedsmilie:
as for DD/Mael, I am not setting either up for the vote. Why? are you worried about them?
Your whole brain storm about how it would be better to lose you then FF (if we were to lose an innocent) just seems like a round about way of claiming inniocence with really saying it...to buy into that logic we would have to assume you are in fact innocent, which I am not ready to do.......
I would like to place my vote now but i really think i should wait until this afternoon when my "event" is over and i dont feel so rushed.....
