I'd love to try this out! Either kind calcium or not will be fine for me whatever you have the most left of...

I have pleco's . cories. swords. tetras . guppies .killis. rcs and a variety of snails that could potentially eat this mix.

Be happy to provide feedback. I almost ordered this off the sale thread and probably will still but couldn't pass up the opportunity to possibly try it out first.

Yep, that's the idea. I really want feedback because I've never done anything like this before. I've made food for my critters for a while, but this is the first time that it has been in an easily shippable form. If people are underwhelmed once they try it, then I'll just go back to making it for my own use, but I thought I'd at least try it out on a few people to see if it's worth selling. Thanks for giving it a whirl!

I would be glad to pay for it if it wasn't to unreasonable considering shipping
Jack

If you would like to purchase a portion, please see the sale thread. If you want a smaller or larger quantity than I have listed, send me a PM for a quote. Thanks for your interest!

So how does it work? Is there a deadline and after that the ones that made the list give you their addresses? Im giddy to try it out.

I wanted to give it a few days so that people who have a "life" "outside of AC" have a chance to put their names in the hat. (I'm really not sure what this "life" thing is, but I have heard of it, and my understanding is that it makes it difficult to check forum threads continually. I wonder if you could clear that up with the heat/salt method.)

I suppose I should name a cutoff, so we'll say Friday at 6pm Eastern Time.

After the cutoff, I'll take the names and through some combination of AC membership length, post count, dice rolls, ouija boards, and consulting my cats, I'll select the recipients and PM them to get mailing addresses. Hopefully, I can have that all sorted and mail out early next week.

Im giddy to try it out.

I'll try not to keep you waiting too long! :)

I wish I could offer a cheap sample for sale, but it's tough. If I sell it, I have to figure in the PayPal fees, which makes a tablespoon pretty expensive per volume. If I make the sample larger, it becomes a "package" instead of a "letter," which bumps up the packaging and postage costs and makes a half cup the smallest portion I can price reasonably. Maybe there's some trick I haven't learned yet, but I keep crunching the numbers and coming up with the same answer. So I suppose that anyone who absolutely can't stand to wait will just have to spring for a half cup. :p:

god, i feel that... i just went and shipped a necklace today that i sold to someone on etsy, and by the time i paid for the shipping, the insurance on the package, the paypal fees, and the transaction fee on etsy, i'd already shelled out almost half of what i got for the necklace!! that doesn't even take into account how much the supplies to make the darn thing out of cost!!!! :shakehead:

you are a very sweet individual for offering to go through all this, all in the name of R&D lol

One thing that helps, cello, is to send things as a "first class mail package" - the post office will never tell you about this option, but it really exists. Any dimension can't be wider/longer than 12" is the only stipulation. Oh, and it can't weigh more than 13 oz (I think)

+1

You could even send flats in stuffed envelopes... Should be inexpensive, and can't wait to test out your mix..

Put me in the hat, I think my P. alleni and acei would love it. Regular is fine with me.

Thank you: Dion....

Neat idea and I'd like to try it too, but my Ca hungry shrimp, Otos, MTS, ramshorns and C. aeneus will defer to those in line (way) ahead of me.

I'm posting here so I can find this thread again down the road and probably order some (assuming the reviews are even half as good as I suspect they will be).

PS - re USPS and small packages... anything less than 12" and 13oz can go 1st class - it's cheap, I mail 90% of my plants this way (large packages, big crypts tend to be over weight).
