BTW, those came stock with a spray bar attachment, so make sure to use that as a price reduction if they dont have it...
I had a 700 and truthfully thought it was an ok filter, and had it on a 55. It was the only one and on an Oscar only tank. It got its share of gold scales and fins... It did have some bypass, but you can solve that by wrapping the trays with some twisted poly-floss, and taping over the wrap with teflon tape. Worked great for me...
The flow from any filter becomes less impressive after a while...
We get used to the flow and decide we want more...
Heck, my FX5 doesnt have "impressive" flow either, but only cause im spoiled on it, and its never enough.
One day, I'll plug in a filter thats blows the opposite pane out of my setup... Then I'll have OK flow
I would offer the guy 30 and deal from there.
I love having two filters, for directional adjustments, and maintenance ease(without the mini-cycle worries).
