- Stir or shake the powder to ensure an even distribution of ingredients.
- Combine 1 part mix with 4 parts lukewarm water. (You can use more water for a softer gel, less water for a firmer gel.)
- Stir thoroughly and check for clumps. Let sit for one minute.
- Set out the molds, containers, or surfaces that you want to use for the finished gel.
- Heat until the entire mixture is above 185°F. (Boiling works.) This is very important and the agar will not set properly if it does not all reach the required temperature.
- Once the mixture is thoroughly heated, pour into the containers.
- Allow the mixture to cool. The gel should feel rubbery when set. It will set at room temperature, but you can speed the process by putting it in the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes.
