75 gallon Planted Office Tank Journal

I think what he was saying was put a few ghost shrimp in the tank as a test to see if they will be snacked. If so, then your new shrimp will for sure be eaten. Go buy like 5 ghost shrimp for 30 cents and see if they get eaten.

Yes. Thanks, mes...that is what I was referring to.

Next time I will try that trick. Learn something new (about aquaria) every day. For this tank, I guess the test will be $60.00 worth of Amano. :hitting:

My boss now wants a tank in his office, being 10 feet away from mine is not good enough. Looks like I get to do this all over again! Keep sending in the tips.

lol damnit geek....tell your boss to fund a tank of mine and I will put his name somewhere on my car lol.

Geek, you should do like 90 gallons for your boss and ask him for a bit larger budget and make him a discus tank. My 125 is housing 7 discus right now and it is a beauty man. You like to order fish online, but I go to discus breeders that have good quality juveniles for $25 a piece. Think about it. Discus are my favorite freshwater fish, but also the hardest fish to take care of in my house. I have my first marine reef tank as well. I found it on craigslist for $80 for everything including fish and live rock.

Link on The Estimative Index EI Method

Every time I try and do a google search on EI method, I get the same couple of hits, which are fine, but they dont always explain everything start to finish in full detail, because it is assumed you should already know a thing or two, and the intructions are simple because EI is meant to be simple. But what if you want your hand held, like I did, when I was researching switching from PPS-PRO to EI? Well today I dug a little deeper, and found this fantastic link I wanted to share.

Awesome info, awesome pictures.

Yeah, I am lucky in that sense. Bosses take care of me pretty well. I told him we should do marine for him, but he went from hating the idea of a planted tank, to loving it once he saw it starting to take shape in my office, so now he only will consider another planted tank. I will inquire about the advertising relationship you mentioned. :D

90 are nice, but for some reason the 75 seems to be the perfect tank to me. Not too high, nice and deep. I think he actually will need a smaller tank, I dont know if we can squeeze a 75 into his office. I like discus alot, but I showed him a picture and he called them "ugly". :banhim:
I am going to show him some discus tank pics, or maybe what 100x tiger barbs, or some other little fish look like in a massive school. Maybe we should try a non-planted semi agressive tank, like the larger african cichlids. I need to sell him any idea I come up with, but I tell you what, I dont have to have an exact replica of what I have in my office, what would be the point of that?

Shrimp are in! This is the first shipment I received that same in "breather bags". Since I didnt know anything about them, I do a google search. I came up with this link, which explains why/how they work. (note: I bought the shrimp from AC member msjinkzd, not the vendor at the link below)

Floating bag now, pictures to come later in day.

Thanks msjinkzd!
