Mafia #71 - The Infection

Ok, i need to come up with a good role-play.

Mr. palmer was mindin his own business at the town lake, just sitt'n and fish'n. Then he saw it. It was a large, ugly catfish he had been trying to catch since he moved to the town, about 4-5 months ago. He grabbed his net, fishing pole, and a large bucket, ran out to the very edge of the lake, to his big rock that he liked to sit on a lot. He then baited the hook, tossed it in the water, and started to wait. After a time he gave up, and started to turn away. But then it returned. He swiftly got it into the ucket, and then wondered how he was able to catch it so easily. He looked into the bucket, and watched in horror as it started to foam and bubble at the mouth! He dropped the bucket, fish, rod, and net, and went running for his house to eat a nice piece of cake, read a good book, and pray that whatever had gotten to it didn'tget into his fishtanks, or into his drinking water. On the way he stops at the market and buys 40 gallons of water, milk, and food. Mr. Palmer also tells everyone he meets about the incident. He just hopes that its not to late to warn the town...

Ok, got that out of my system... moving on again.
FF pretty clearly defined what "it" was. The one in the reddened sentence is the only one in the post that isn't bolded. The bold is the thing that gets to me.

What was PMgate?

Happened during one of my first games (maybe #5 or 6). Jmax had been monitoring the PMs of people because at the time no one knew any better and were not invisible. She was able to pretty much nail down the entire scum team by seeing who was PMing whom and relayed a message to the town by I think bolding the letters P and M in a post. It was brilliant but lead to a heated argument between her and another player who was I think the don or at least another mafia member.

I was just wondering if FF was trying the same thing. I remember trying to send a message when I was the doc once...got me hit the first night LOL.

Scumspiracies aside, I have to say that what concerns me most about FF right now is his hypocritical jump on Ice.

But that's not exactly an odd thing for FF to do. He makes hypocritical jumps all the time. The minute he is challenged he backs off and goes another direction. What is odd is FF's restraint in posting...

Interesting...but with this format, who would he be trying to communicate with? Doesn't make sense.

I was thinking about that too... If it's accurate that there's only 1 on each team right now, then there would be no one for FF to communicate with to keep him under control. One way or the other, I think the meds thing may be true. Which is why I think we need to look into his posts as thoroughly now as anyone else's.

Dag, can you confirm or deny that there's one on each team at this time?

What makes you guys think there is only 1 on each team right now? Looking back at the rules, it say's nothing about there only being 1. Just that they get 1 hit each night.

The infected: Every night the infected team may choose to infect one person. If you successfully infect a person you will be able to chat with them (and they will become an infected also). You must PM your choice of person to infect before nightfall! If you target a vaccinated pharma rep or the hillbilly to infect a team member at random will die.
Pharmaceutical Rep: Each night the pharma rep team may choose to vaccinate someone. If you successfully vaccinate a person you will be able to chat with them (and they will become a pharma rep). You must PM your choice of person to vaccinate before nightfall! If you target an infected or the hillbilly to vaccinate a pharma rep team member will die.

It seems something may of been said in the mafia game thread about it maybe...but there is nothing in the rule to suggest this, or am I missing something?

What makes this really hard is that there is only 1 pharm and 1 infected right now as per the sign up. With only 11 players I don't think that would have changed.
I'm not even sure what strategy to use this game.

On 1 hand the bad guys could lay low and just build the teams up.Or they could assume we'd think that and over post.

We can't even just vote who we think they would turn tonight because they can just change it.

One thing I am very willing to do in this format is vote a possible UD, unless the evidence against someone else is damning.

Only thing that peeked my interest at this time was Jpaps claim to have a good role then it looked like Lab was trying to start something with her question. But when LG said something about it Jpap seemed to get a slight bit defensive. But at the same time why does LG just write it off as being Jpap?

Here are the posts:

Not sure if I'd vote Jpap or LG if I had to vote today. Thankfully I have another day to decide.
This is what made me think it, LG. Ice said it was in the sign up thread. I didn't check, but I trust him on that point. I also asked for clarification from Dag, so hopefully we'll know for sure.

Numbers wise though, if there are 2 pharma and 2 infected to start with, that puts the town at a great disadvantage. Especially since each team will get a turn each night. Makes sense more sense to me if he started with 1 pharma and 1 infected. If there were more people playing then I could see starting with more evils.
