Mafia 72-Vampires game thread

Let me add one more thought out there for those of you that think I am lying about there could be more vamps than we think.

LR called the game out of fairness. Kashta admitted in the game thread that she wrote that post. LR probably just copy and pasted it.

She has shown a meticulous core that her game be fair. Adding 4 stakings without upping the number of vamps to start would seem to be contradictory to the care she has shown.

If I am right, and there are more vamps than we assumed, we cannot afford to lose another townie.

OK trying to get caught up.
I was not home to post - I said when I posted this morning that the only reason I was posting sooner rather than later was I did not know how much I could get on today. Otherwise I would not have posted my concern before we heard from Wiz, as I didn't want to be providing his excuses if he was guilty.
To me there is no choice but to vote Wiz or Dag there's no other way to check if Dag is being truthful. Leaving Wiz to the slayer is too risky if the hit doesn't go through we know nothing.

I don't think the town should tell the slayer who to stake as it gives the vamps a clear target. THey know who is innocent their only worry in the turn is their turn might get staked. If they know who is getting staked by the slayer they can easily turn someone else.

The slayer should take the shot they feel is best.

LG... I don't like this plan at all. That last stake is hugely important. It could win the game for the town. If Dag doesn't find another vamp and we stake Wiz, then the slayer is still left on their own to make a decision. I don't like hinging the game's results on such a big "if".

To the first paragraph... WTF? Can you really think this is a good idea? If Dag names who he would invest, I can see the vamps biting exactly that person... it gives whoever is left plausible deniability. They could use it to give up that person and make themselves look good to the rest of the town. But part of me thinks you already know that...

To the second part: the thing is, we just can't know; and WIFOM arguments are going to get us nowhere but bitten. I get that you were saying your point. And you've gone on to repeat it here... presumably for FF... it doesn't sit any better with me now than it did then.

LG, I have to start out by saying thanks for the compliment; that was a very nice thing to say. With that out of the way; I can assure you that investing me would be a huge waste. We would gain nothing from it other than you knowing what I already do. Which you can tell if you look at my posts objectively.

I pulled this post of Chill's for context, (for the record, I still have chill leaning innocent)

LG... the thing that bothers me about this isn't that you're looking for the turn. We're all doing that. I believe also that it is Wiz and last night's turn left. The part that ruffles me is that you're again making WIFOM arguments rather than looking at posts and gameplay. There are enough excellent strategists on the vamp team at this point. All they need are warm bodies. Who would they leave behind... indeed.

Here LG agrees with Chill's idea that Dag might yet be a vamp. While I admit it is a possibility; I just don't see it being the case this time; again, I won't go into detail; but I'm 99.99% sure Dag is who he says he is. This being said, I don't fault Chill for bringing up the possibility. I had the same thought myself before nightfall. What bothers me is LG subtly supporting the theory without really taking any sort of stand one way or the other.

I have to say, LG... you're looking worse and worse with each passing post. It seems to me like you're just floating ideas out there to see what anyone will latch on to rather than looking at evidence and taking a stand. Also, why is it you keep talking about what a good player I am and totally leaving yourself off the list? Trying to blend in much?

If Dag wants to invest me, that's fine. It'll be a waste (at least for tonight), but I'm okay with it. You seem to be trying to keep that finger off yourself.
Yes, the last stake is VERY important..which is why I thought it may be a good idea to save it until we have more info. As I said, I don't know that it would be the best thing to do...but waiting does give us the advantage to hopefully have more info.

Again, not saying Dag SHOULD say who he plans to invest, but IF he did and they bit that person they would show as vamp, because the invest comes AFTER the bite. So it just may help "save" a innocent at least for that night. I really do not know that it is the thing to do though, again just a thought.

Sorry if what I say doesn't sit well with you, I am just posting things I think in hopes that something will help us.

I don't think a invest on anyone is a waste. No it may not always show a vamp but it isn't a waste, you learn something from each invest.

I was "supporting" nothing JB, I simply said yes I have thought of that also.

I always look worse and worse to ppl when I post, it's been said many times I am the mafia's best friend when innocent.

Of course I want to be left off the "list" JB, a stake in me is NOT going to get the town what they want...obviously there is nothing I can do to prove it, but i can assure you it will not help win for the town. If you are trying to put me in the "good player" list, obviously this game proves that is incorrect.
If Dag or anyone wants Dag to invest me, that would be just fine with me..in fact that would be wonderful to me, but you will not find a Vamp.
I know this in no way makes me look innocent, I know there is nothing I can do to prove I am not vamp except say I am not, and hope that you, other townies, and the slayer can see past all my goof ups and actually find a vamp.

Wiz if your innocent then I'm sorry but you said yourself you were willing to die to prove Dag was lying. Unfortnately it seems like the only play left.

I vote to stake Wiz.

Jmax:

JMAX?!? Zombie!!!! Git 'er!

Sorry, couldn't help that.

At this point, I believe Dag; which in turn means I believe that Noods is also innocent... for now. I also have Chill leaning innocent.

My best case scenario for night time events:

1: stake LG. She just keeps looking scummier. My best guess is that she was last night's turn.

2: invest 2H. if it wasn't G; it was 2H.

3: slayer gets Wiz... should make a nice trophy for the slayer's den. :D

I could also see reversing the first two. In fact that almost makes more sense now that I think about it. LG could be good to keep around if innocent; and there's a chance she may be. These two were my first instinct after nightfall. After all the second guessing; I've got to go with my gut. It's seldom wrong.

I'd still like to hear how Dag wants to proceed before placing a vote.
If the town, Dag and the Slayer all agree I need staked..so be it. I will ask you not to and tell you it will not kill you a Vamp. I will not fight and scream about it all I can do is ask you not to.:headshake2:

As for me being the slayer and staking Dag - if I am the slayer then I won't stake Dag tonight. I'm not about to confirm or deny that I'm the slayer- if I am I wouldn't want the vamps to know, if I'm not I wouldn't want to narrow down their field of choices.

I honestly don't think that the vamps would choose to bite me for the sole reason of I'm under the impression that they need bodies on their side. yes they could kill me but they wouldn't gain the new person they need.
