Mafia 73: Werewolf Game!

A question for everyone...if Jm had not prefaced the post as a "message from Zombie Kash" and put it in quotes, would it have made a difference? I don't see how it would be any different for Jm to tweak the message as if he were saying all that since it was known he was a MIA with Kash. The overall meaning isn't lost either...

Now I'm not saying FF made the wrong call...the game was going downhill fast...just something to ponder about...

I don't want to be the one beating the dead horse by continuing the topic but I will give my input on your question. I would have been ok with it if JM had put it into his own words. The copy paste message from Kashta was just too much. She may as well have posted it herself. After reading about it in the MIA chat I hear it's been done before. That doesn't make it ok to me. If Lab had died and wrote a post for me I would have tweaked it into my own words for sure. (And as you can see she wrote nothing for us.)

I think the game went downhill due to frustration. I'm partly responsible for that. Sorry!

Just got home from work, not quite what I was expecting, but good game everyone. If I offended anyone I apologize as I did not mean to, I was trying to protect my "innocent" self.

Actually, I just now read it and I would have withdrawn from the game. To me, it was a blatant rule violation. It's fine to take her idea, but he needed to put it in his own words and not attribute it to her. Even copypasta without her name on it would be obvious as Kash has a very distinct writing style. Doing so keeps her alive in the game. I thought it was questionable when Kash would post that "JB agrees" since JB should have no direct input like that into the game thread since he was dead. Might as well not have killed them off. Does that make sense?

Good game guys. I owe you one rat.
Thanks Rich! I appreciate your "investigation" on me, that really helped me out. :hitting:

It was bad enough JM had a post earlier that was written by Kash. I can't believe Kash did that myself. I would have quit then but this last post was definitely a breaker.

Good job modding FF.... you did try to FF it up though, glad I could give input.

The day the wolves killed Rich poor FF wanted to help the town by posting Richs invest of that night in a note.
Then the Dag tag vote.....

I loved reading the game since I knew who was what.

When Lab voted G with Kash I thought all was good....but then Lab had to open her mouth.... You should have just voted LG then shut up and stayed away. Work schedule let you do that.

Dead communicating players having after-death thoughts posted in the game by others, and then claiming no rules have been broken? Am I missing something here?

**chuckles**

Just for the record, that was the only post that was written by kash, the one I quoted. There may have been one after it because at that point I didn't even feel like defending myself anymore so I just posted stuff. Everything else before that was my own writing, no matte what they may have said earlier in the game.

Thanks for modding FF! for what it's worth, I had fun!! Congratulations on your first (mostly) success!

I do want to say something to everyone though.

8. THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE. This is a game, it is meant to be fun. In the course of the game your words will be twisted, misinterpreted, taken in various contexts, it important to realize that the group of players here are generally good natured and mean nothing by it. Do not take anything said in game by anyone to be a personal attack or insult. If you feel that you are being personally attacked or insulted let me know.

Even after seeing what's gone on in several games. I truly believe this part in red.

Some people put a lot of time and energy into their posts and these games. There's a huge personal investment in that. I think it's important to keep in sight the idea behind playing these games. That idea is to have fun with other like-minded people.

A lot of communication happens non-verbally, that's a challenge in these games because we don't get to see peoples faces, expressions, gestures, postures etc... That stuff is all hugely important in our dealings with people in every day life. Because we don't have these non-verbal signs, sometimes the things we say and mean can get confused or misinterpreted (on a level beyond the game mechanics).

I think we have a really good group of people who are genuinely just trying to have a good time, but when you combine the amount of time and energy put into the game with the lack of non-verbal context you get a situation where it feels as if people are getting bashed, or insulted. That can quickly turn into real hard feelings, and more bashing and insulting.

I hope we can all agree that this kind of situation is not our goal. With a little bit of work and understanding we can keep things flowing smoothly. Except for that jerk Zaffy, he's a jabronie!

My favorite posts were when Kash was so sure Zaffy was evil and told him

"Go away little doggie."
