Who would buy these discus??

It's a good price.
they should go in QT.
BTW, Hobby breeders often sell their stock for very much the same price. but their best stock are often set aside and either sold or traded to other discus enthusiasts.

it is possible these may be asian imports.

if they are healthy it is a good price

First I would ask myself...do I have room for 30 discus, do I have another tank if they get sick, can I meet their care requirements if I have them for a little bit etc...etc...

I have three 75 gallons and a 125 g i could clear out to put them in. Thats should be plenty for the time being.

Okay i took a trip down there in the car. He had very healthy fish. I saw all of his breeders. He had like 12 90 gallons just got his breeders. and a ton more for the young. It was pretty crazy. He said if you bought a discus in OH, KY, or IN it was a good chance it came from him. He has 20 left now for that price and im going down tomorrow in the truck to pick them up. I will quarantine them for 2-3 weeks before i start selling them because i dont want to sell unhealthy fish. He also has about 40angelfish i might pick up if i can find the room.

keep me posted as well.. for that price i would be more than happy to take a few off your hands :)

i took the trip down there to find that he already sold 20 of them and i only got 10 and 20 angels... im pretty P.O.ed. Anyways the discus and angelfish will be quarantined for 2-3 weeks depending on how they are looking. The discus are in a 90g bare bottom with a few potted amazon swords. I am keeping 5 and the rest are going to my buddy who helped me get them. He said he will have about 50-60 of them ready in about a month or so.

Will do, im hoping to get the next batch of 50 or so, then eventually start raising my own.

When buying homebred juvies discus, always ask to see pictures of the parent and actual frys/juvies being sold.

That's about the going rate for 2" homebred PB. If you are going to get it ship, buy in larger quantity (6-8) so that shipping charges isn't going to be more than the fish.

If you buy discus at a very small size, realize that you may not get all to grow out nice and big.

BTW.. The picture from the first post look more like the parent then the actual juvie. There is no way 2" pigeon look like that.
