I have been feeding my discus fry cichlid flakes ground up and baby brine shrimp changing the water every two days. They seem to be doing very well. What other kinds of foods are good to feed them? Thanks.:grinyes:

Along with BBS, this is what I feed my frys from 2 weeks up. They don't get BBS after they are 6 weeks old.

Frozen beef and beefheart seafood mix.
Frozen Bloodworm
Angels Plus hatchery flakes
Angels Plus earthworm flakes
Angels Plus Frys Starter #1 and #2
Angels Plus growth flakes
Spirulina Flakes
Kens Beefheart Flakes

They are fed 6-8 times a day

I feed them Spirulina Flakes an cichlid flakes, where did you find Kens Beefheart Flakes? Thanks for the advice.

As far as I can tell it helps to feed a wide variety to keep them from getting picky. Look for higher protien content. I make both seafood mix & BH/shrimp foods. New life spectrum thera A, Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef flakes, several of http://www.kensfish.com/index.html flakes, granuals etc, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp (rarely), mysis, mosquito larvae, live white worms. Of course I have several non-discus tanks to help eat all these LOL. When I first got my discus they learned within a day or 2 to hand feed, if I hold it they'll at least try anything.

May I ask where do you get beefheart?
Ask at the supermarket meat counter, if they don't have it most can get it.
