Someone call a doctor, I've gotten this disease bad:drool:! Here are some new plans for the not too distant future.
I've grown weary of my 72g bowfront community tank, so I think I'm going to turn that into an all male Hap/Peacock tank. A visit to one of the LFS the other night when he just got in some new ones(and some oohs and aahs from my wife:grinyes
was enough to start me thinking. Here are some of the potential choices, trying to have a variety of colors and avoid look alikes. Probably wind up with 8-12 fish.
Aul. German or Ruby Red
Aul. Benga
Aul. Lwanda
Aul. Flametail
Aul. Maylandia, Sulfur Head
Aul. Kandeensis
Aul. Sunshine
Aul. Maulana Bi-Color
Protomelas sp. "Steveni Taiwan" (Taiwan Reef)
Copadichromis sp. "Mloto Goldcrest"
Copadichromis trewavasae
Copadichromis azureus
Otopharynx lithobates (Zimbawe)
Copadichromis borleyi (Kadango) Red Fin
Tramitichromis sp. "Intermedius"
The manager and I talked for a bit, and he gave me great ideas. I was originally thinking of doing a Victorian or Peacock species tank. But like the others, females are generally drab. So the 72 will become a show type all male tank. I told him I also have a 4' 33 long available. So he said why not single Vic species tank for the 33? I like it! On top of that, I have a 40g breeder from the recent $1/gallon sale at Petco. Right now I am leaning toward at least some Triglachromis Otostigma for that. Am I losing my mind?
