Please dont. It's not a good idea to drop fish that have been in captivity for any lenght of time, especially when something doesn't belong therr, for a variety of reasons.

Thanks and as soon as I figure out this shipping thing I'll let you know. It'll take a few days as I have a lot going on and I wanna get every detail right to stress them as little as possible

Errr. A manmade lake isn't a good idea since those lead to other bodies of water...

Actually the one on campus doesnt its completely self contained ... Its more of a giant concrete pond

And I know I cant wait to get a pond when I get my own place After I get my puppy lol

I've only read the original post, but my feeling is that while a 1 gallon is not ideal for a betta, it is probably better than what most bettas get. With the proper temperature and maintenance, your boy should do fine.
