Is it really that bad?

well there isn't much thats needed. a filter and a light will get you buy on goldfish and the heaters aren't that expensive anyway.

what you spent on the betta and his supplies would have been nearly or enough to get the heater.

Eli if you can't find a good home for you gold fish, I have an empty 55 and I can take them.

the filter for the forty is 80 plus gravel lighting ... everything.and I have nowhere to put it. My betta for everything cost less than 20

Money is an issue as well as not having parents sucks ... I have to have my friends mom take me to do anything :( but shes nice :)

well you could give them a home with just the filter bare bottoms are all right. Like I said I can take them if you need me too.

You can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink....
:headshake2::headshake2::headshake2:

You've taken steps to increase the number of lives in your hands, despite the concerns everyone has brought up.

I wish your betta and goldfish had been given the opportunity to thrive in an optimal setting, rather than inadequate space and filtration. Even as feeder goldfish, their ends would have come swiftly, and their energy given to another in the circle of life.

It is clear that you will only do what you want to do... "it was more of an I couldn't resist" - sure you could. I know you're young, and it's difficult to think about things like consequences and responsibility... good luck.

Please consider Ballyhoo's offer to take your goldfish... she has the perfect tank size to keep them for a long time.

ballyhoo I do not know how to ship them but if you want them I will ship them if you tell me how. I know this is going to sound really bad seeing as it seems like I am treating them bad but I would like pictures and updates as they grow :) I truly do love the little guys. I will even send there food with them so you can wean them onto whatever you like. They are very shy so a cave for them would be nice. send me a message on here or the other forum and we will talk about shipping them. I am so glad my babies are getting a good home :)

A 55 will only hold the two of them for a few years but Its better than what I have. I am glad you are willing to take them. I'm going to miss them but this will truly be best for them

I have never shipped a fish but I think there are a few good threads on here that will tell you how.

I would love to get them in a lake or pond or the forty ...

Please dont. It's not a good idea to drop fish that have been in captivity for any lenght of time, especially when something doesn't belong therr, for a variety of reasons.

well ... I only have betta cups to ship them in .. though I can get a couple bags from the LFS ... I'll get everything together you just get the tank together and I will ship them as soon as I can. They have to not be fed for two days plus I have to wait to make sure I get everything right with the shipping. I want to do this as safely as possible
