Mafia Games....

Yes, but I am considering adding a rule where I could mod kill if things get out of control... :22_yikes:

But it would only be for extreme circumstances when posting is out of control and detracting from the game. There will be a warning before the mod kill as well.

Just an opinion... I don't think it's necessary to add a seperate new rule to these game for this.

First, those players who were making all those non-game-related posts last game have since discovered that the rest of us did not appreciate it. They also found out how much it interfered with and detracted from the game itself, making it difficult to review someone's posts. I doubt they'll behave that way in the next game they play because of that.

Second, the game mod doesn't need a previously written rule like that if they feel they should intervene. It's the mod's perogative and a judgement call they can and should make. That's why these games HAVE mods.... and that's part of their job already.

If a game mod thinks the posting is inappropriate or getting out of hand for any reason, all they have to do is say so in the game thread. Then, it either stops right there or the mod removes the player(s), penalizes their team, or even calls the game - depends on the situation.

I'm sorry but with my work schedule, there is just no way that I can play a nightless game. I am going to have to sit this one out.

I will have to wait for the sign up and see what things are like at the time. I have registrations, open houses, and the start of school coming up all this and next week for all three girls.

I don't think I got to play in the last gun slinger and it sounds like fun...so if I can I for sure wanna play!!!!!

I'm gonna sit the next few out, I just don't have enough time for mafia anymore.

I was thinking about a future game inspired by Reservoir Dogs. Scum could chat through a chat room using aliases but would not know each others real identiies.

This is rough as I only started thinking about it today but what do people think of the idea?

Reservoir Dawgs

Back story:

Joe thought it was a done deal when the old man called him upstairs. He smiled knowingly as the old don told him he was backing away from the business. Getting out slowly handing over some of the operations to the only man he could trust. The next sentence hit him like a ton of bricks. The old man was handing things off to his friend and confidant Vincenzo Coccotti. This was a slap in the face; his own father giving away what should rightfully go to him. Angry he demanded to know why. What more could he do to prove his worth? The don told him not to worry; all would be his in time. “Have patience Little Joe, it will all come to you when I decide you are ready.”

“Little Joe”, he hated that name, like he hated the old man, but right now all of his hate and rage focused on Coccotti. He couldn’t act openly against him but he was going to make sure that Coccotti would not be taking that which belonged to him. He decided to bring in some outside help to take care of Coccotti. To make sure this could not be traced back to him he assembled a team of independent contractors that would never meet face to face. All planning would be done through conference call and the only person who would know all the players would be Joe. The contractors would not know his true identity but would know him only as Mr. Big.

The plan was to reign down terror on a small town named ACville which was now part of Coccotti’s territory thereby making him look incompetent. That a few hapless citizens might get killed in the crossfire was not a concern for Mr. Big.

What Mr Big doesn’t know is that there are two threats within his little group. An undercover police detective and a vigilante who will kill any scum he can identify.

Roles:

Mr. Big – The only person who knows all the Dawgs. He can try and sway the team away from targets that are members of his group but has to be careful he doesn’t “out them “to the vigilante or the detective. He can also protect any player from the mafia hit. There is no protection from the lynch or from the vigilante hit.

Mafia Dawg – One of the independent contractors. You will be assigned an alias and can communicate with the other Dawgs in the chat room I provide. You have to be careful not to reveal your identity as the group has been compromised. Each night the team gets one hit .

Undercover Detective – You are innocent but have convinced Mr. Big you are a trusted member of his group. At least to the degree that Mr. Big is willing to trust anyone. You will have access to and can participate in the mafia chat. You are free to pass on any information you learn in this chat to the town through the thread or take any other action you deem appropriate to try and subvert the scums’ plan. . Obviously this would have to be done covertly because once you’ve been identified you will be sleeping with your fishes.

Vigilante - You are innocent but have convinced Mr. Big you are a trusted member of his group. You will have access to and can participate in the mafia chat. You will have one hit per evening but you do not have to use this hit if you do not want to.

Regular Townie – No special powers but you can vote each day to lynch one person. You must vote each day and you cannot vote for yourself.

i like it chill

That sounds really good!

Ok, I won't add the mod kill rule, y'all are right, things get out of control and I'll do whatever is needed to maintain the game...including killing FF if needed... ;)

I'm sorry but with my work schedule, there is just no way that I can play a nightless game. I am going to have to sit this one out.

Wiz, this version actually requires less of a time commitment than a regular game, since it moves to the next day once the shooter shoots. No need for a majority like most nightless games. Shooter only has a max of 48 hours to decide, and last game after the first couple of shooters it took less than 24 hours for each day. If you don't have time, I understand, but I swear it's not a huge time commitment like most nightless games.

Ok, I'm going to post a sign-up thread soon since I am impatient.
