I'm going to attempt to do a breeding journal of my German Blue Ram pair, and this is my first day, so you'll have it step by step if they decide to breed.
I was in That Fish Place in Lancaster, PA today, and I was really impressed with everything there. They have a tank full of GBR's, 90% female, my male was the dominant and there was another male in there, subdominant. My male and female were in the tank corner fending off the other rams, I watched them do it for 10+ minutes.
That Fish Place also had a female-heavy tank of Gold Rams, which I almost got, but then decided you can't beat nature. The longfin blue ram tank had about 75% male.
Anyway, I purchased the pair of rams (along with other fish and plants for separate tanks) and had a smooth hour long ride home. I acclimated them over 45 minutes and let them into their tank. They hung out near the heater, as I was raising the heat from 78 to 81, which I'm going to raise to ~83-84 tomorrow, didn't want to shock them.
I'm going to attempt to breed them and raise the fry, so if anyone's interested, they can follow me in the 'journey'.
These guys are about 1.75"(F) and 1.9"(M). Here are some pics below:
The Male:

The Female:

Full Tank Shot: (Tank sort-of in progress)

If you guys have any tips on breeding/aquascaping, they would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for looking
