I've always wanted a giant fish bowl and I'm getting the oppurtunity. My 36g bowfront is looking pretty bare. I'm going to put a big castle decoration in there, maybe with some java moss on it and a carpet plant on the substrate to make it cooler.
IMO, your stereotypical fishbowls look best with one 'large' centerpiece fish. This is going to be my new Auriglobus nefastus puffer who goes by several names including Apple, Killer, B*stard (long story...), Kitty, and Puff/Puffy/Mrs. Puff.
The tank is well filtered, heated, and completely suited to my single puffer, so don't get me wrong about a fish 'bowl.

That actually seems like a neat way of putting it, a giant "bowl". I like the idea. And I like that it's not a real bowl too.

I will have pics when it's done. I've always wanted just one big 'smart' centerpiece fish with a castle, and the bowfront makes it look like a bowl, so it's the nicest 'bowl' a fish could have.

Lol, I'd name it a "Bowl-front"
That's why I like you, Chris... you're so punny!

Sounds like a great idea, dude. Can't wait to see pics.

What type of filtration set up will you have?

If you ducktaped 36 goldfish bowls together you would get the same amount of water, but it would be even bowlier.

Will the castle be a swim-through for the puffer?
