alrighty then. even though not everyone has given me an answer about who you would shoot right now, the consensus seems to be Ice and for basically the same reason.

Let me set up a hypothetical (that means pretend) situation. You are the gunslinger. You just shot Ice down in the street, and still have the gun. So Ice then has turned up scum. The deadline approaches, YOU have to take your next shot now.

Who will it be?

Why?

If had just shot Ice and I had to choose another person to shoot I would shoot FF. I would shoot FF because of reasons I have already stated about odd posting patterns.

*sigh* If ice turned evil? I would shoot Jspigs(for backpedaling and other scummy stuff) then Kash, Rich, or Chill(their all vet, at worst, i die and a vet gets the gun. At best, i kill an evil vet who would otherwise be good at hiding.

Wish I could read you better LG, but your play is like this often. the above is the first post in the thread.

We face 33% scum this game. While it does give slightly better odds of hitting scum with first shot, it still looks like a crap shoot so far.

Yes, apparently I missed that at the top. I thought it was said there were 5 originally...but then when I looked at the "mafia goons" it said (players A, B, C, and D) which would be 4 not 5, I did look back through, and yep I missed it but I didn't see it say 5 and I was thrown off a bit. I did think quite a bit before posting that and almost just let it go because I knew it would definitely look bad for me...but I just didn't see the 5 and felt I needed to know, so I asked.

I tried to word the post to explain why I put we in the 1st question but nothing I wrote really explained it well enough that I thought everyone would understand so I just admitted it to being a trap.
I really thought about just not answering the question at all in hopes it would be glossed over and still catch players but at that point I figured it didn't matter anymore and I'd still get a read on players from responses either way.

So you were talking about the other post, not the fact Wiz was the one picked? Are you saying YOU set a trap, Why?? IMO, you were just causing needless confusion with your post.

OK, skip what I said about tipping off the scum. Two things have changed my thoughts on this.
1) I have tried to sit back and just read what you guys have posted, while I did get some good thoughts I just can't play a passive game.

2) If I miss, the next slinger can benefit by combining my thoughts and reasoning with their own.



LG, Let me ask, were you skimming because you just do that normally or did you really NOT need to know that LR told us there were 5 on the scum team because you know who they are?

I'll continue to word my posts as I feel I need to root out and trip up scum. It will either help Wiz make connections or get me shot.

I'm fine with being shot. As I said the game was easier to me as the slinger as I could word my posts anyway I wanted to set traps without being called out. If Wiz thinks I'm scummy he can shoot me, he will die but I'll be in what I think is a better position for me.

I seem to recall you saying your willing to be taken out in several games you were mafia, and here you go with your "traps" again.

As for why I posted I'd have put it in a new players hand take what you want from it.

For the bolded part. I'm saying that as mafia they wouldn't choose a player that is hard to read to be the slinger. This causes the slinger to have to wonder about the hard to read players. which makes the game harder for the slinger.

Ok, you lost me in your wording again Ice. They wouldn't choose a player that is hard to read...yet they did. I personally do not find Wizard as a player that is easy to read.
What is your point?

OK, I am seeing some posting coming along and that is good.

However I am beginning to think that the few questions I asked were not the right questions. ( I would still like to see the answers though)

I would not shoot Ice. he love his off the wall theories and many times they are not as far fetched as in the first reading. I would believe right now he wants to be shot if the Wiz cant figure out some one else as scummy.

I cant figure if Pigs is a confused newbie who is innocent or a mafia who realizes he might be in trouble and is trying to dig out of it. I would consider shooting him.

If I had to shoot right now I would shoot LG, something does not quite feel right about her. If I was wrong LG getting the gun would not be the worst thing in the world.

Rich, this post rings bells all over the place to me. The "LG" does not feel right to me thing is posted pretty much every game I play (well, not last game when I actually was mafia)..and most always it is a mafia that starts it or keeps it going.

This whole post seems pretty scummy to me, Rich.

If Ice were shot and innocent, he'd get the gun which would be still beneficial to the town. It would be bad to lose Wiz and not hit a mafia but it's a chance worth taking.

You say you'd consider shooting JS but you can't figure out if he's just a confused noobie or not. Do you think we should take a chance at putting the gun into the hands of said confused newbie?

Shooting LG on a just a feeling? It also sounds pretty scummy that you say her getting the gun wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Given her ability to help out scum while innocent, would you really want that for the town? (No harm meant, LG, I mean it all in good fun.)

All of these quotes are about who Ice would pick if he was a mafia goon. It seems odd to me that he would keep posting about who he would choose when he can't change the mafias decision. This makes it seem to me that Ice might be trying to make himself seem innocent by saying he would have picked someone different.

That actually is a pretty good post there JS, Although I do agree his post seem pretty strange to me. What stands out more is (as a first time player) the fine way you posted this

I've got to agree with Tay here, Rich. No offense to LG, but with her well known position as ACville's resident weather person, she's not the one I'd like to see with the gun if the shot is wrong. Though I can see that the scum team would feel easier about her having it than Ice.

What is the difference between considering and hesitate, I did not say 19 minutes ago I would blow his head of I said I would consider it.

I love the semantics and word twisting. I keep forgetting in the is game , Jane run, **** walk, Rich would consider shooting some one, which of course is the opposite of hesitate. I must have been out that day of vocabulary class.

Rich, I'm sorry but IMO there is a pretty big difference in "considering" and "hesitate". Considering would seem to mean you would "consider" doing it. Hesitate would seem to mean you would most likely NOT consider it.

I feel I should mention that after I posted about reading one game I also read another game. As you requested I will not comment on my innocence or lack thereof.

Wow, way to "protect" him there Pir. Although, I do hate to see brand new players taken out right off...you sure seem to be overly protective of him. If he turns out scum, he wouldn't get the gun.

Oh Wizard, I really have no way to answer this right now. We still have lots of time left to look at ppl and think, it is way to hard to pick one person at this point, let alone 2.
I understand your reason for asking this question, but at this point I just can't give you a answer.

I snipped that part from your long post, JB. Pointing that out because I disagree with you. I was also concerned about how people seemed to react to FF. Not sure yet which of those are more suspicious than others though.

I'm glad you brought this up (snipped from your post here), it was something I wanted to address also.
JB, see it as you will but personally I think the reactions to FF's posts hold more meaning then his actual posts do. I wasn't by any means saying I didn't think his posts look scummy (they usually do), but I get more from the reactions to his posts then his post them selves.

The other thing I've seen posted that gives me some pause is the idea that innocents shouldn't worry about looking scummy because not only do they not die but they even get the gun. This seems shortsighted at best. An innocent does die if you make the gunslinger think you're scummy and he wastes his shot then he dies. It also muddies the water and makes it hard to find the real scum.

Don't be afraid to post but looking scummy when you're not hurts the town so it still important to post with care and attention to what you are saying.

Have to agree with this, looking scummy (when innocent) helps no one except the scum.

Ok, Kash, I had 0 access to a computer due to the fact that I was at my mennonite grandparent's house who do not own a computer. When I got home, I started posted.

Fine, JS then, for his inconsistency on his list especially on LG.

They looked scummy to me.

You need to elaborate a bit.

I love the idea of this game, it's a trust game. Wiz can believe me or not, and if he chooses to shoot me I'm either scum or new gunslinger. And I'll give you a hint, the answer's b.

Okay so I haven't read thru the entire thread again yet but from what I have read to catch up again it looks to me like players are using LGs scum MVP as a reason to not shoot her. That with Pigs distancing post leads me to believe I'd shoot LG.

I'd also keep a strong eye on JB Tay and Chill.

Ice, for reasons pointed out several times. He may be truly trying to help you out Wizard, but his references to "if he were mafia", he really does seem inconsistent, his reason for wanting to shoot me, just do not sit well with me.

Jpigs, as said before just seems to be posting way to good for a noob, and after thinking about Ice, I could see him (Ice) having JP post the way he has so he can come back on and say he (Ice) thinks JP is "distancing" from me, then JP comes on and now he see's no reason for suspecting me...come on, is that so if you DO shoot me because Ice wants you to, they think it will "clear" him in some way?

Rich, now I know this is going to sound strange but (and I do thank you for your kind words Rich) he is being WAY to nice about me. I think pretty much every time someone has "cozied" up to me they were mafia.

I still have a hard time saying who I would shoot, but I would have to say one of them would be my top choice at this point.

Partly gut feeling partly posts by others. The posts saying you wouldn't be good to get the gun really stand out to me. It seems to me they are saying it so you won't be shot and found to be scum.
