My New New fish!!!YaY!!!

Are you serious, guys, do you think id be happy if my shark died? No, just wait, if he does die soon because he got too big, u can shout it big and loud and say, I told ya so, but until then, please back off

We're trying to help, thats what this forum is about. We're trying to make you aware BEFORE it happens and to watch out for the interest and best interest for the fish. Because in your state (like most others, mine included) improper housing is considered animal cruelty. (I'm going to school to become an animal cruelty officer I take the first part of my certification in Nov.)

Hrm, though I don't think rudeness is particularly warranted or anything, I think that when you are asking the opinion of those who are experienced in the hobby so that you can better care for your fish, hearing but not heeding the advice can leave some of those who are trying to help you frustrated.

LOL noone said SOON... It will take TIME. But why keep a fish MISERABLE??? He will be that for sure.

"so, im sorry, but discussion over, sorry!"

And how old are you again?

Seriously guys, shut up. This is what doesnt make sense to me. Ill never take fish back to the petstore again, never. Why? because the petstore is hell compared to a home fishtank. Her fish tank is not overcrowded atm and the redtail shark, he's happy in the tank he's in now. If you took him back, well id say thats worse than keeping him. Also He wont be miserable. Ive had a redtail shark in a 37g for months, he was a very happy shark, and i know that cuz this guy was happy enough with his home that he wouldnt give it up to a 5 inch oscar which i had to house in there at the time. He was almost 2 inches and he made that oscar run for his money. Sadly when i was transfering him to a larger tank he jumped out of the bucket and i could not find him (I think my dog ate him). If someone refuses your help well dont throw a fit about it, get over it. That shark will be fine for years, so like he said, discussion over

Blegh. I figured I sounded to harsh.

I know what you mean, but why would you adopt a pet if you can't give it it's permanenet home. Why do people think pets are like toys? When they outgrow you, you can't just toss them out. You're adopting a life and they become your responsibility.

Honestly, unless the shark told you him/herself that he was happy, dont' think he is. He's bullying the oscar not because he's happy, because he's being territorial. He doesn't have enough space to feel comfortable letting others "in". The oscar is getting in his territory so off he chases him.

I don't really think it makes sense to think of owning pets as your personal rescue mission saving them from the pet store. Just buying them from the pet store in the first place supports said pet store - if you were worried about the conditions that they're kept in there, you wouldn't buy anything from pet stores at all. I just think it's sort of an irrelevant argument to make in terms of whether or not you can adequately house a particular animal. That being said, I think the suggestion that the redtail shark can be housed happily while it is young in the tank being discussed until a larger tank can be acquired or whatever the solution may be when it reaches a larger size, is a more pertinent point.
