Plant newbie looking for advice on low light plants

Yeah i figure you can buy everything ofline but i was curious if this was a common item in a fish store.

No

As I mentioned before (WHY I don't know) but I have yet to find one store in my area that carries ANY MOSSES. And the plant selections suck as well. Thank God I have a lfs that can order stuff for me, but mosses isnt one she can.

It really depends on your LFS selection. The AC marketplace will surely have someone selling mosses... I find that easier than ebay or aquabid, personally.

I am not 100% sure about flame moss in low light... I have it but I've got pretty moderate light. I'm sure it'll be okay, just not sure how fast it'll grow. Tying to egg crate sounds difficult :) But you could try it!

I also have screen door mesh that i used to place over the egg crate on my ledges and to keep fish out. Do you think i could use that and get the plants go grow through that?

Is there an easy way to add a couple extra watts of light? I don't want to get one of those really expensive light set ups that give like 400404040202310 watts of power.

I use the clamp lights with aluminum reflectors that you can find at Walmart or Home Depot with CFL bulbs. Very affordable :) You can also DIY a hood with CFL bulbs (look in the DIY section, there are a couple types) for pretty cheap.

I dont see how the screen wouldn't work - just sandwich the moss between... it may take awhile for the moss to get through the screen if it's too fine. But moss takes awhile to get going, anyway.
