Plant newbie looking for advice on low light plants

I would sew the screen together with thread or fishing line & silicone or glue pieces of rock or gravel to weigh it down. You could also use smaller rounded river rocks to act like a border & weight.

CFLs are more efficient than normal bulbs. There are 6700k daylight bulbs which are great for growing plants. You could use a couple 13-15w for your tank...

I have no experience growing plants with LED, but the LED lights I've seen are very blue/white - haven't looked into what kind of output they provide.

No

As I mentioned before (WHY I don't know) but I have yet to find one store in my area that carries ANY MOSSES. And the plant selections suck as well. Thank God I have a lfs that can order stuff for me, but mosses isnt one she can.

I think Java Moss is not common in fish stores because it does not really lend itself to commercial cultivation. However it is great plant for hobbyists interested in fish that want something green and growing.

Do you mean attach rocks to one side of the screen wait 48 hours then put the moss in the mesh close it and let the rocks on the one side of the screen weigh the contraption down??

I am using sand as my substrate will that be heavy enough to weigh it down?

Yep. If you use super glue (the gel works best) you can place the moss almost immediately. Super glue is aquarium safe. Silicone will need a bit of time to cure. I've heard of others using hot glue guns.

If you use sand to hold down the edges, I'd make sure you leave enough space without moss so you don't kill the moss by covering it up with sand.

HC would need more light. Dwarf Hairgrass is cool but I think considered medium-light... You could try it. I just got some from snail_chen & it looks pretty nice in my little 2.5g.

I don't know about weeping moss - isn't it meant to grow downwards, hence "weeping"?
