Sooo pretty! How is the aggression between your group, have the spawned yet? My males turn in epic buttholes when spaning!
My biggest male came from Peathenster over on MFK just spawned with a female I bought from HiImSean. Small world.
The aggression isn't bad. Half the time they stay in a close group (along with an 8" flagtail that I have with them for now, he seems to think he's one of the gang), half the time there is some chasing, flaring and showing off.
No spawn yet, but I think they're working on it. The one in the first of the current pics is getting quite a belly (so I'm assuming it is a female) and the alpha male (pics 2, 4, and 5) is picking on her and doing lots of flaring and showing off.
I bought these 4 as wilds last summer at the ACA convention. When I have the space, I'd like to get them a bigger tank and possibly add a few more to the group.
Well, based on behavior, I'm pretty sure about the the one being a male. He's the largest and the meanest.G. Abalios are isomorphic so there no way to visually tell the difference in sex. IMO the males grow larger sooner if your growing them out, get them as adults and it's a crap shoot. (that's 100% opinion though). I though my largest female was a male the first 6 months I owned her. I was pretty surprised when "he" started dropping eggs lol..
My males are REALLY hard on the females when spawning.
