Bubble Count (DIY CO2)

So, I have my DIY CO2 up and running (although my madagascar Lace was doing great without it). I have 5 liters of fermenter pumping into a 72G tank. The output of the hose (now going directly into the filter intake) is ~ 1 bps. Anybody have any guesses whether I should add more fermenters to try to increase my bps?
The CO2 thingee is still in the :thumbsdown: color. My KH is ~7, pH 6.8. I figure if the Lace is doing fine, the others will catch up so the CO2 level is good.

I'd expect more output from 5 liters of fermenters, so one place to look might be at tweaking your formula a bit. It sounds like you could definitely use more CO2. If more fermenters is what it takes, then I say go for it.

Not that I had the patience for that myself. Once I had more than 4 liters to run my 60G tank, I bit the bullet and went pressurized.

DIY is very ineffective on tanks that large, you will need a lot of bottles running. WHat filter do you run your co2 into? You will want to eliminate almost all surface agitation.

I agree. Also, are you using the CO2 charts? Those are not very accurate since they assume that the only buffer is carbonate.

I have a Rena XP3. The input is angled slightly down, so no surface agitation to speak of. Also of note, this is a fish tank with some plants, not a plant tank with some fish.
