fert dosing

Offhand I'd say no. This could somewhat be applicable with root feeders & "dosing" root tabs to specific areas, every couple months...

Disclaimer: fishycat has been proven to be COMPLETELY wrong, on occasion. :grinno:

:iagree:with fishycat

Only reason i can see where you wouldnt want to dose the entire thing is that you only have a very small number of plants (e.g., 2). But at that point, why bother dosing at all?

 yes folks, she can be taught! :grinyes: thanks for the confirmation, coach_z!

does the number of plants in the tank in anyway dictate how much fert you use?

Assuming that the light is above the compensation point and that CO2 is non limiting and space, then yes......

More biomass= more demand, less biomass= less demand for nutrients.
This works only if the light and CO2 are independent.

Tom Barr

thank you Mr Barr. I will play with dosing. My lights are good 6700K 4-20 watt bulbs over 29 g or 36 g Heavily planted, But one tank, the 36, I just took out plants and wondered of I ought to alter my dosing. I use excel, not CO2,
