5 gallons is plenty of space IMO. Heck why not get 1 more oscar so he has a friend.

The rule is 1 fish per gallon...you have room for 3 more fish. I suggest a goldfish, a pufferfish, and a chicklid.

I have a gourami and a ram who love each other, no joke. I have photographic evidence.

They hang out with each other all the time. The ram ignores the female ram I have. :headshake2:
