Sorry, I've been out of town for the past few days. And I'm using my phone so I hope this all works....
I'm not sure what type of kit it is, I got it at a pet store in town. It was $32 or something and the hot little girl working there recommended it over more expensive test kits. So one would assume it's good.

An API Master Test Kit (liquid tester) is generally the 'more expensive test kit' and should have been about that price.
Liquid test kits are generally the way to go. They are more accurate and you tend to get a lot more usage out of the bottles for the price (although more expensive initially).
Unfortunately test strips are usually considered to be pretty inaccurate. I would Buy the liquid API master test kit.
