Platytudes, it's called pescatarian. I feel as though if someone needs to sell their breast milk in order to feed not only themselves but their families then there is nothing wrong with that.
You can sell plasma.Well, people eat other mammals, not each other...and the pathogens issue seems like a valid one. I mean, most people don't get deathly sick drinking goat blood (uncommon in the U.S. perhaps, but not elsewhere) and yet people blood is another story!
Breastmilk should really not be sold, plain and simple, for the same reasons we don't sell our blood. It also doesn't seem like adults should be having it either, but I guess I have nothing to say to back that up...except there is an exploitation element in there somewhere that I cannot quite put my finger on.
Pornography (especially the more artful types) can be argued as an art form of sorts, but I can't see how allowing a young woman in need of cash to sell her breastmilk is any different from allowing homeless people to sell their blood.
I have to agree with this completely!!human milk is the ONLY milk humans should be consuming...................right up until the day we are wined.
humans are not designed to drink cow milk. and yes it would be an awesome alternative for infant formula...seeing as it already is coming out of its mother.
and if pasteurization would remove most of the benefits.....could you say it does the same for cows milk?
Actually, you can buy breast milk as odd as it may "seem" there are places mothers who can't or don't want to breastfeed can buy it from other mothers.I would think pasteurization would remove most of those benefits. If breast milk were meant to be marketed, wouldn't we have had it on the shelves a long time ago? It would be a viable alternative to infant formula.
That's because other mammals haven't figured out how to turn it into yogurt, cheese and ice cream.I have to agree with this completely!!
Humans are the only mammal to consume milk after childhood.
