It was listed as a "Freshwater Miratesta Snail". Really helpful. While it looks like another brackish/saltwater snail being toted as fresh, it really does look great, so if one of the invert pros can enlighten me, I'd appreciate it; I can only order them until Wednesday. Here it is:

Can't even find a single picture. Deffinately not enough info to spend 5$ a piece on them (this is the "On Sale" list of a wholesaler!).

I've found exactly -one- photo on this snail...strangely on Facebook.

Under the name Miratesta celebensis. I've seen several discussions on the fact that its either threatened or endangerd, but it does appear to be freshwater and not brackish.

It is really quite stunning though. While I can't condone harvesting this snail due to its status, working on a breeding colony would be admirable.

This would seem to indicate that it comes from only 5 freshwater lakes. I would wonder if a Sulawesi shrimp set up would be good. They are in the "ramshorn" family of "lefthanded" snails. No idea on feeding. I would probably put in an established tank with a good bio film and MTS incase they turned out to be assassin like. (doubtful, but who really knows when the only picture seems to be on facebook).

Honestly, I might have been moved to try some if I hadn't just recieved a large order. Add that I'd want at least 8 (40$+shipping+tax), and I'm quite relieved. Also, something tells me I wouldn't be very succesful in breeding. However, assuming they'll be as succesful in selling 5$ snails wholesale as I think they'll be, I'll know the snails are hardy if they still carry them in a few weeks ;)

I wonder if their shells are as hard as they look. Let me know when you get them please!
