Yes, I finally got some of my final stock for my 72G bow front............

I went to the LFS today, and got 1 pair of gold rams, and 1 pair of German Blue Rams for $37.96 plus tax, I also bought a bunch of plants, and spent $100.

I know that fish hide the first day or two until they are used to the new tank. The German Blue Rams are active as if they have already been in the tank for a week, while the Gold Rams are hiding, and not really eating.
Is this normal???

By the way, I put.............
German Blue Rams into a 20G, and the Gold Rams into a 10G until the 72G is planted, and ready.

I am still waiting for my extra eheim hoses to arrive as the ones that came with my 2075 Ultra G 158G Pro III Canister are too short by a foot.

What are rams favorite foods?

thanks

That is normal, some fish adapt a lot quicker than others. My Bolivian Rams started eating right away as opposed to my Tropheus.
I usually use small cichlid pellets or blood worms and they go nuts and I'm sure other people on here use some other good stuff as well.
They will def love your planted tank, shoot some pics and share so we can see these beauties!! :D

Remember to keep them warm. 80 is a minimum for Rams, I keep mine at 85.

I will post pics once I transfer them into my 72G

I didn't know that, thanks for the heads up.:)

I keep EBRs and Gold rams together and the golds seem to be a bit more timid than the EBRs generally speaking, but it could just be them getting settled in. The higher temp will make a difference in behavior. Rams really need good water conditions and a well established tank, but it can be done in a new tank if you stay on top of your water parameters and don't mind frequent water changes.

Rams do like warm water, but need not be 80-85. I would say high 70s to 85 would be OK.

Yeah, the temp. was raised from 77-79 in both tanks to 80-82 overnight. The gold rams were more active this morning, and actually ate the food. I think I got male and a female but I am not sure. The GBRs in the other tank stay like a pair, but these Gold Rams don't really stay next to each other.

Is the 72 even cycled yet?

Yes, but I am waiting for another week before putting these more delicate fish in.

2 pair of rams is in a 20G, and the other pair in a 10G.

I have a question, How do I sex my Gold Rams, because I think they are both females, probably not both males since they are not fighting a lot. I do see them once in a while(once every hour or so) attempt to nip each other. They look the same.

Any major differences in color.

thanks
