another peacock gudgeon breeding journal

Thanks guys! Congrats Cookymonster! I hope the gobies make it too. :)

Thanks guys. Yeah, they are SUPER tiny. It's hard to even get them with my macro setting. They are SO freaking cute though. :)

They're really cute! It's not supposed to be hard to raise these guys, I read, if you give them adequate live foods at the beginning. How many times a day are you feeding them?

My worm starter cultures came today. Walter, micro, vinegar, and banana. Are grindalworms another name for one of the worms I have?

Just wondering, are the gudgeon fry small enough for guppy fry to eat?

Guppy fry might be able to get them...they are pretty tiny. I am feeding them twice a day..just vinegar eels and baby brine shrimp for the most part right now. They do get down on the hikari first bites though even though it isn't live. I don't recognize any of those names as being grindal worms. I raise grindals and vinegar eels, and I used to have white worms. I couldnt handle the smell of microworms though lol.

microworms/waterworms/bananaworms seem to all be either very similar, or the same species, the rest is marketing hype IMO.

They say one is smaller than the other, but I've not seen any major size difference between cultures (i've only seen a handful of cultures though so I could be wrong), A thriving microworm culture will have worms of all sizes in it.

Sorry for going off into left field with that one, I've never heard grindals called by anything other than grindals, they are a little smaller than white worms.
