Looking at PH meters

I think several things.
.....Your old unit's probe dried out on you. They're only good for about a year even if they don't dry out.
.....Why do you think you need one? For freshwater a color indicator is faster and generally more useful.
.....pH as a day to day thing rarely causes issues in a tank. Can it? Yes. Does it? Not usually. Your mileage may vary.
.....That type of unit, in the past has had a lousy track record. I don't know that brand so I won't condemn it, but the track record for pocket pH testers is not good. Moving it from tank to tank is a possible vector for disease.

I have 8 tanks . Marine tanks , Ciclids, Barbs, community, and 2 shrimp tanks , so i have lots of different water parameters even though the PH is all stable in my tanks but i do like to keep check on them weekly , I Make RO/DI water and just like using the PH test meters , I don't think I can have disease all my tanks are clean I think :)

I use test cups for the water testing , 8 Tanks 8 cups after each test i rinse the meter in RO/DI water as you should , Also find my PH liquid test kit (API) kinda hard to read its no problem to find a difference of 0.4 in the test

Thanks

Many folks have a use for them! I like my Hanna. Have a lab stand where I store mine with probe in fresh RO water and turned off. Works for me.
