Prickly Sculpin Tank

^_^ she is doing great!!!! almost 7 inches now.....she got a name now though...we have appropriately named her Shelob(the spider from lord of the rings).
and yes she gets feeders. there are always feeders in her tank,
i breed my own fancy guppies, convicts, marbled crays, cherry shrimp, and soon to be paradise fish for her.all get fed a high quality diet i mostly made by me..with flakes and pellets now and than.
she also eats night crawlers, night crawler sinking pellets....she loves pellets and often ignores the feeders for them and blanched peas.
she used to eat blood worms but now ignores them ..frozen fish fillets...uhh silver sides......she eats lots of stuff but yes feeders to^_^
Hmm how did you ween her onto pellets. Haha Shelob thats great. Ive named my fish "Postage" because she can sit and wait in a spot all camoflauged for a long time. Interesting feeders, I feed nightcrawlers, gutloaded mealworms/crickets. Pellets sounds great though as I usually hand feed mine. Postage is growing and I will have to get a definite length. How do you present you silversidesfor her too eat. My sculpin hunts mainly by movment.
well... i didn't ween her on to them them at all.
when she was tiny she ate blood worms from day one and anything that fell in front of her face moving or not.
so i got some sinking pellets, and broke them to small peaces and dropped them in front of her face..fist she would spit them out so i broke them up till they were small enough for her to swallow and made them larger and larger till i didn't have to brake them up, i think she was just not used to the feeling of them.
now she will flutter all over the tank in front of me if i pull out the baggie i have the sinking night crawlers sticks in...its silly^_^.
she will eat almost anything i drop in front of her face and i hand feed her as well...witch makes water changes interesting..have to keep tossing her out of the way as she begs for food.^_^

Ok well ill give it a shot. Haha my sculpin does the exact same thing will try to bite my fingers and rest on my hand.

and one of her...shes getting to be a freaking monster..measured her threw the glass she was just over 6 1/2 inches.

yup she loves baby cons...shes working her way threw the last batch of about 150 atm...but they are all around 1/2 inch and under.
oh, i thought she was eating adults...
that would be a scary fish...
if they fit in her mouth she will eat them..i think the largest she has eaten was about 2 inches.
