I know a lot of people on here ship fish with flat rate USPS boxes. I shipped a package from NY to CA and it took 5 1/2 days to arrive. When you guys ship fish in flat rate boxes does it normally arrive in 2-3 days or is it often late?

In my experience, neighboring zones are 2-3 days. Mid- country from me is 3-4, coast to coast if 4-5 days. Its one of the reasons that I really prefer express for most fish. The fine print of priority says it can take up to something like 8 days and there is no recourse if it does.

As a shipper and a buyer, to me, its worth the guaranteed-by date of express for the peace of mind.

I've shipped a lot of packages (100+) this year and nearly all of them have gotten to their destination in 2-3 days. I typically ship on saturdays and mondays and it seems to work out best. I like express shipping but it costs over 3 times as much as a priority package of the same size so it isn't worth it for small fish shipments unfortunately.

i got a pair of killifish in 100+ degree weather with no ice pack with priority and it took 4 days but the fish were still ok.

It really depends on where you are located (shipping from). From here, if it is not at the PO by 10 am, it doesn't go out until Monday morning.

Same is true of where its ending up, if its a rural local, it just plain takes longer. If in a city, or near the postal hub, it gets there quicker.

well im like an hour away from where the stuff ships out witch is san bernandino,ca so my stuff gets shipped out very quickly i never had a priority package take more than 4 days lucky me lol
