I value the lives of neither the catfish or the kids, so there is no equation. As for my statement being abominable...meh, that's your opinion. As pointed out in a later post, these junior psychopaths often wind up graduating from animals to humans. Maybe after one or more of them has raped and murdered someone's 10 yr old daughter feelings will change.

Again. I never spoke in support of his statement. I merely clarified that he never once equated the lives of humans to those of the fish. You took it to mean something its not. All he was saying is most psychopaths and serial killers start with animals. Typically cats and dogs where they skin them, torture them and kill them. Then they start moving up to humans when they get to adulthood. It's after they kill 30 people that we find out as a preteen they started with neighborhood cats and dogs.

Unfortunately we have no way to tell the future. No way to know why they really did this. No way to tell if getting these kids helps will set them straight. You can just hope that this isn't the start of something horrible.

And while I'm in the mood, consider if an independent observer who had no other reference other than your posts on this subject read them. Do you think that such a person might consider you to be a potential threat, given your stated disregard for both human and animal life, as you consider those delinquents to be? I find watching someone defend the indefensible quite entertaining. Please continue!

and the article says "Cucchi says it's not clear what motivated the attack...." They're little boys, and little boys like to kill things. that's the best motive you're going to get.

I wouldn't be surprised if they get charged for theft rather than anything that has to do with animal cruelty.

Still, I wonder what in the world would motivate not one, but THREE kids to invade a high school and kill a bunch of fish that were being used for experiments. Why not stop by a local river or something?

These kids definitely need to be handled the right way, normal kids don't do stuff like that. As a kid me and my friends would feed fish to bigger fish or turtles, but never just out right kill things the way they did. I agree with wesley for the most part, although I would let them have another chance. I say to keep them closely monitored, and if ANYTHING they do shows traits of being a serial killer, then put them down.

I agreed with you. It's an equation. The horse is dead. Put the stick down and move on.

How am I a potential threat because the lives of three criminals are of no value to me? They've proven themselves to be killers. They went out of their way to plan and commit a murder spree. Because they murdered fish in stead of mammals isn't pertinent, IMO. If they got a shot in the paw they definitely wouldn't grow up to have to be sentenced to death row some day, and definitely won't grow up to further pollute our already-dwindling gene pool.

And let's not waste time referring to the little smears as "delinquents". Delinquent means failing in responsibility. In this country we don't hold juveniles responsible for their actions. By definition they can't be delinquents. It's doubtful they'll get so much as a slap on the wrist. Possibly they get expelled from school. Oh no! Maybe someone will make them sit at home all day playin' video games where they shoot and kill people.
