I'm considering painting the back of my new tank black instead of getting a fake background for it. Any suggestions on what kind of paint is best?

Tks.

Spray paint is what I've always ised

I have all but one of my tanks sprayed. I just got the cheapest SP Walmart sells. .96 a can. Paint slowly and do it in multiple coats and it looks great.

And remember to do the *outside* of the tank, and tape off/cover the interior so none of the paint gets inside.

Same as others here. Spray painted the only time I did it.

Or, why not try a 3D background. Look at Aquaterra.com, not cheap but it look so good.

thanks for the advice, everyone!
