I'm sure "buggy" for shopping cart annoys people who are used to "carriage" or whatever.
Different parts of the country have different dialects for the same item. "Coke" is used mainly in the south, "soda" in the Northeast, California, Milwaukee and St Louis - figure that one out, and "pop" is used mainly in the Northwest, Midwest and Canada. Personally, I don't care what you call it since it all tastes the same and ends up in the same place. :screwy:
Just don't take me to McD's for food!
LOL, and whats wrong with a hillbilly? They can be lots of fun, and will definitely help a neighbor in need out, way faster then mostOMG I hear this everywhere as well, I must admit my father says "walmarts"...LOL....I realized years ago that being from where I am from I am already labeled a hillbilly so I am diligent in my speech to not commit these types of "typical" southern errors.
I just say "cart"Honestly, the only neutral term to use is SOFT DRINK. I am most comfortable with soda as a slang term, "pop" does sound irritating to me...but I'm sure "buggy" for shopping cart annoys people who are used to "carriage" or whatever. I prefer to say "shopping cart" but when you're talking quickly it can seem too long to say, like wastepaper basket vs. trash or trash can.
And yeah "food" like those McNuggets is one reason I am so glad to be mostly vegetarian. I do eat fish sometimes, but not fish fillets from McDonalds, I can tell you that![]()
HAHA! Off topic, can be fun and interesting too!!holy crap! I didnt mean to change the topic of the thread that much. I meant that there is something in it that makes me feel like I have the flu (never actually get sick), but there are other alternatives such as the soda stream machine. Trying to relate it to the mcnuggets having stuff in them but there is the alternative of making your own.
I say pop, idk why I just never say soda or soda pop. Actually most of the time it is, "where did I put my bottle?"(the sad part is it took me about 2 min to figure out bottle had t's in it instead of d's. Maybe I should get my finals study guides done before they end up a doodle of a unicorn)
Yep, I grind meat quite a bit here for different things I make (although, I stay away from adding ammonia, or other things)some nuggets are now made of "breast meat". my philosophy is if it looks like white meat inside and breaks in fibers/strands when you tear it, it's not paste. mcdonalds' new nuggets and tyson chicken fingers have passed that test for me.
we ground our own meat with the kitchenaid when we need to.
LOL, just had a thought....is there any one who say's "cola" anymore? I remember hearing that when I was younger, and when reading another post I saw someone was from "Cola" something or other and that popped in my head?
