Good News For Now on the SOPA/PIPA Front

Yeah, that's called an internet service provider.

well when they shut down internet ( literly mean SHUT down ) in order for you to go back on, you will have a code. if that happens i will be so irritated and mad, i will be protesting big time!

I don't remember that being part of either bill...from my understanding Congress is more concerned about foreign sites that pirate material from American businesses. Not saying that SOPA/PIPA are going about this the right way but I'm pretty sure they aren't shutting down the internet

If they shut it down, our economy will crash. We rely so heavily on online shopping and companies that provide internet will get half of what they normally do.

Can anyone show me the physical key they have to do so? Don't think it can happen..period.

SOPA what you won't hear from the mainstream

interesting hmm?

interesting, google still needs to do at least a 1 hr blackout like wiki did. And they should post THAT SPECIFIC VIDEO as the only thing you can do.

There is no surprise here. The SOPA/PIPA laws are nothing more than thinly disguised attempts at internet censorship. Like all government actions, is done on the paychecks of Joe Citizen. The fact that this video alleges that big business is behind it comes as little surprise. It's always about the golden rule as in :He who has the gold makes the rules. Big business has always been the driving force behind any new laws. If it is not favorable to their bottom-line, they lobby and get laws made or overturned in their favor. They can then step back and say the law says they can do such and such or say it's not against the law. It's all about who you know and who you lobby.

There are only 13 root name servers for the world, and they are all in the US.
There's your key. Mandate change at that level and anyone who bypasses it will be in violation of Federal (with a capital F) law.

Shopping sites won't be affected unless they allow reviews that aren't censored.
News sites will be shut down. But then you have your local or not so local printed news paper for un-filtered news. Oh, wait, the ownership of those is in just a few mega corporations.
