oscar vs more blood parrots?

I don't think 5 blood parrots are overstocked in a 120.

There are variables that aren't being accounted for to make claim.

How much filtration? Size of the fish currently? How often water changes are done? How is decor laid out?

I know they can get 6 to 8 inches but they do work well in a group together and they would do fine.

Well to answer your original question I would go with the Oscar. I hear they have an amazing personality and are a great centerpiece. Given the opportunity I would have one (but my new big tank will be SW)

overfiltering does alot but having to many of a fish cramped in one tank does worse.....

Okay - I have a 100 and I keep 1 Oscar, 3 Blood Parrots, a Balloon FH, and a Convict. I have been told I am overstocked, but I pay for it by doing 50% water changes every other day and running 1500 gph of filtration. My tank is fine.

My vote would be for the Oscar because I love Oscars.

i think aqadvisor plus people on fishlore kinda beats your advice.
