Yeah I wasn't getting at that. I just wondered if you meant 2-3x turnover or 2-3x (manufacturer) recommended turnover. I said that as an example without thinking the whole statement through =)

NP..Think of them as One in the Same. So in you have a 10 gal you want 2-3x MORE than what you would get out of the standard 10gal filter. If its a 55gal you want atleast filtration UP to 100gal (not to be confused with gph)
 
There we go. That's exactly what I was wondering and making sure you were getting at. Awesome and agreed completely. I learned after coming to this forum that filters are woefully overrated by the manufacturer for what they can handle

OH YEA for sure. Aqueon sells a 55 gal setup at Petco for 199.00 which includes EVERYTHING you need. The filter they provide is suggested for a 55gal. Sorry, but thats not enough filtration.
 
No problem. When you start really deciding on fish you like feel free to come around ask how they will do together in a tank and how many and all that =)
