ATF, the company from the show also manufactures that "miracle" product. Considering the success rate with other bacteria in a bottle (BIB) products, and that even the BIB products with the highest success rate still don't "instantly" cycle tanks like they claim that product does on the show...

I'm inclined to think that the reason they use those products on the show has far more to do with advertising their product to increase sales, than it does with actually "insta-cycling" tanks.

However, there are also certain things I've seen them do that are just flat out wrong, in the way they handle livestock, and in their stocking levels/compatibility, and for that, there's no one to blame but them. On top of that, the stars are very annoying, and everything that's meant to look as if it's spontaneous looks painfully staged.

Yeah to all that. Also the fake coral is uuugggggllllyyyy and some of the tanks are downright cruel. The skateboard was one, and the Kiss one was another. I'm sure the fish really enjoy the flashing lights and the huge speakers on either side of the tank. IMO. I like Fish Tank Kings better but I refuse to watch Nat Geo Wild anymore.
 
^ yeah I'm cool with display pieces that look awesome but when I saw a skateboarder go up the ramp built against the skateboard tank my mouth dropped >.<
 
Comparatively, Fish Tank Kings built a tank for a baseball stadium but they made it double paned so the fish wouldn't feel the shock if it got hit and they tested it. Even if the fish did feel some shock, at least they tried lessening it.
