Does anyone in IL (more specifically northern IL) have Comcast cable that is glitching? I have had no issues for years, and no issue with the digital conversion. Now no matter what tv I go to the cable is glitching. I have changed nothing with our set up in months. Just curious if it might be something with the line coming into our house or if it is a problem they are having in the area.

Thanks!

I read an article that they are the 5th most hated major company....just sayin.

I cut the cable (comcast) when the recession started and have not missed it a bit . Spend the money on cool things now and then . Sorry to hear you have the problem , time to get a tech to check it out , good luck .

Finally got a hold of support and they remotely rebooted the cable box and somehow the digital converters as well. Everything seems to be working fine. We just switched our cells to sprint so we are taking a hit this month compared to normal with all of the switching cost. But at the end of next month we are switching tv and internet to AT&T uverse because it is a better value. My older cousin is moving in with us as well and would want tv. She also wants good internet. Hopefully if she and I each put in a little $ we can get my parents to get the highest speed internet AT&T has.

We are hostages to anyone that provides internet and tv service. None of them are worth a hoot. If they don't screw it up on one thing, it's another. Poor service, lousy customer care, etc and they don't care because they have you by the short hairs.

I have a box that was having issues and finally got someone smart enough to do the remote reboot (others tried but never got a serial number so it never worked). Made everything work fine. The box has gone out two more times though. I would suggest switching your hardware out. Doesn't require a service call and they're cool about it. I'm gonna switch mine out soon enough.

If it gives you the 'one moment please this channel should be available shortly' when it goes down then definitely try switching the box out before you have a tech come. I had techs spend at least 12 man hours messing around my house and none even tried to check the one box in the house having trouble.

For reference I have Comcast and live in Indiana

Ditch the cable and invest in good wireless internet. We find links for our shows online, stream it, and connect the laptop to the big screen with an hdmi cable. You have to wait a day or two after an episode premiers before you can find it usually, but I'd rather do that then pay all that extra money.

Do you know how cable companies diagnose network outages?
They stick pins in a map and if they get enough pins in one area, then they accept that there is a network issue.

The site I usually use to do that requires you to log in via your cable provider. So that doesnt work so well. Plus the only computer with hdmi is my desktop and it aint moving for them to watch tv unless I get to build a custom pc.

I stream it. You can just download it to your PC and stream it to a blu ray player, ps3, or 360.
