Mafia 104 - Dawg the Bounty Hunter - The Play

"What he answered was what I thought he meant, I was just wondering."

Pir, your answer "sounds good" but I don't believe you.

I think you were either trying to make Neph seem suspicious to us or maybe prod him into a flustered response you or others might find suspicious... or possibly just asking a question you didn't really question just pretending to appear helpful.

If you honestly wondered what Neph meant or if Neph wanted to hide behind chaos, I think you would have asked him to clarify his original statement in the context he made it.

Here is Neph's original post.

The "that'll probably change" part referred to his vote.

The last 3 sentences were talking about this particular game. And I think when we read all 3 statements together, Neph's meaning was clear.

The thing is, when you asked Neph to clarify, you didn't include the full content in your quote.

Why did you prune Neph's remarks from this:

"This is an interesting game. A lot to keep track of. I like complications."

To just this:

"I like complications."

Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't look like an innocent question, even though that's what you say it was.
i really think kash was pushing way to hard in this pos for her to be innocent.
I might vote him, I just wanted to think about it. There isn't much chance his reply is going to resolve anything either so it's where I'm inclined to vote if nothing else comes up.

My only reluctance is tending to look harder at vets in a team building format. For Pir to be scum, Dawg would have had to let the balance of this game rest on him in a critical role or someone would have to have chosen Pir as their first turn. I find both cases unlikely... but still possible I guess.
in this post i think she was waiting to make sure that more people were going to jump on pir before she made her vote.
Well I'd say that suggesting the fact that Kash may be going after you for personal reasons certainly ups the intensity...your reaction to her questioning just seems too over the top for me to be entirely comfortable.

So you're voting randomly or was there some other reason for picking DD?

So you used a random number generator or...?
i really think jpap was trying to make something out of nothing to get people to jump onto me.
Congrats!

I tend to think AAF is just playing as usual, he always seems slightly adrift from most of us.

Neph got into this before, has a very intense playing style that draws attention, also seems to want to be perfect at this which is a goal that I do not think even exists. I do not see my vote going there.

I think lists of possible turns would help more than it would give an idea to a mafia team. I imagine today's turn is already in and filed with the mafia commission or the ice cube trays or whoever the ruling body is for an ice rink.

If I had to vote right mow I would vote Kash. I still firmly beleive she was setting Pir up to jump off the edge.
could they not change their turn?
i hate to say it, but that was a lot of effort for very little in return. other than to say everyone's a suspect all i can say is the truth. truth be told (and now we're going around in circles) i literally read through the thread and thought to myself ... hmmm... almost looks as if FF isn't playing... there's no votes on him... i might have to fix that... it's D1 for crying out loud... and what would D1 be without a FF vote... for old times' sake...

i literally spent that whole day immersed in a friends PC on the other side of town through teamviewer. his wife only does facebooky things and he basically only downloads movies. so they're clueless and were running mcafee through verizon and a partial install of some norton apps. the PC was pretty mucked up and full of pre-install bloatware and expired trials. so i nearly reconfigured the whole darn thing. not to mention he was using some crappy P2P software and using pirate bay as a source for all his downloads. i still have to fix that, but he has the attention span of a rabid squirrel.

meanwhile i had the game open on another workspace. i checked through it here and there, but never had the time to really take everything in. i kept picking up where i left off hoping to remember what tidbits i'd read prior to. unfortunately, i had no concept of time throughout the whole ordeal. i just wanted to get done and was battling through the questions of a nervous end user (who doesn't remember any of her passwords) all while trying to stay focused on the final outcome.

so no... i don't have a D1 list (as i often don't... who truly and honestly does???)
but i do have some thoughts i can share (but again, IIRC, we're re-hashing)...
remember reading at that point and thinking "either pir or kash... one just must be scum"... but then there were some obviously personal asides so didn't want to make a bigger mountain out of a mountain that may have should been a molehill.
also was thinking... "who cares what random means... we're already picking from a list of players... how random could it be???" and "why such a distraction over something that's basically a given in any game? (random D1 votes)
i think this post was made to look big and make him look like he was participating more when really most of it is just stuff about computers.

well this is as far as ive gotten and my eyes are reading the posts but im not comprehending anything so i think it would be best to pick up tomorrow.

Are you saying that you think JB is my teammate?

That is exactly what I think right now. If we lynch you and you flip scum, JB will be my next vote.

This is quite a succinct summation of Zaffy's entire game (2nd paragraph).

So now that it doesn't seem like your list from late last night means much (especially considering how both FF and Lab flipped innocent), who do you suspect?

I looked through your posts and I have a hard time finding out who you have legitimately suspected at all this game. D1 you vote Rich for his "random" vote, but switch to Pir to save yourself and then later admit the Rich vote was just better than anything else on D1. D2 you vote Dun for his "random" vote but then switch to DD after her late-day shenanigans without really any other input. Then close to nightfall on D3 you vote for FF in another attempt to save yourself and list three other people as suspects (me, Lab, AAF) based on assumptions of how double votes may have fell...

And at this point you seem to have abandoned that idea altogether. I see very little consistency in your gameplay right now.

And this was all Zaffy could come up in response to that post.

I need to read the thread before I can answer that.

That pretty much says it all, IMO. Looks like those votes we've had on Zaffy have been right on track after all.

I vote to lynch Zaffy.

...could come up (with) in response...

JB, why did you set up a three way tie instead of voting FF or Zaffy?
I stated much earlier in the day that I was planning to hold my vote for the last minute. The reason it fell on Dun is that right now I have no idea who's manipulating who and who's trying to control the vote as opposed to trying to lynch scum. The second factor that came into play was that I was at a bbq with some friends. I opened the thread on a computer and disappeared at about 10 of 9 to make sure I got a vote in on time. I caught up on the vote count and in the few minutes that I had to contemplate I thought that adding some randomness to it would take control out of everybody's hands and give us a chance to lynch scum.

To me, it seems you did especially considering how FF was acting the same way at the time. All I meant was that when both of you came out like that and suddenly said Dun was your top suspect, it didn't make me as comfortable as I was in suspecting Dun.

What makes me more suspicious though is that you went from Dun right to FF as soon as the "steamtrain" (his words, not mine) started to head FF's way.

This progression of posts makes me VERY uneasy, especially given how close to nightfall it was.

JB, when you voted Dun both FF and Zaf were tied. You seemed very suspicious of Zaffy D2 and questioned FF today, so why did your vote go to Dun of all people, without any apparent reason? In addition, why did Zaffy's vote have anything to do with where yours was going to be placed especially since you barely even got a vote off at all?

How did you come up with these names as people who could have got double votes?
Paps... the reason my vote almost didn't go through is because i wrote out my vote post on the puter and the puter went :silly:. So I tried it from my phone while I restarted firefox, which chose that moment to update. I tried to do it from my phone which didn't work. I got it in last second because ff finally restarted. You're going a little far in talking about how much I suspected Zaffy D2. Yes I voted for him. I also had very little time to really read the thread, and admitted that my case was weak. My vote ended up where it did for reasons I explained above. Zaffy's vote had everything to do with mine in that it was pretty obvious he would vote either Dun or FF, so i wanted to know where it would end up so I could create the tie.

All I know is I really want that answer from JB why he went for the tie.

And Zaffy.... are you immortal or what? Maybe feline?
Hope I satisfied this.

Maybe this will get things rolling.

Zaffy, I think that your vote meant too much to JB. I think it was decided that he would keep it tied for you to take your chances. He didn't want to be the kill vote on an innocent.

I vote to lynch Zaffy.

It will probably take a lot to change this vote.

That is exactly what I think right now. If we lynch you and you flip scum, JB will be my next vote.
Wiz, I'm not going to bother to try to convince you of anything... I know you to well to believe you'd even listen. But I want you to honestly ask yourself one question: If Zaffy and I are communicating outside the thread, why the heck would I have asked him in the thread to vote? Isn't that making a pretty blatant connection between us that in your theory we'd be looking to hide? All I'm asking is that you take a long breath and think about it with an open mind.

JB, I really just don't like how you and Zaffy have had moments of going back and forth but neither of you have much to show for it except for your D2 vote that may have just been a risk you two wanted to take...you have a chance to vote Zaffy off and instead you go for a three way tie (and throw in Dun, whom I haven't seen you really interact with at all) and just hope that it will increase the chance of the coin landing in the town's favor? That's not how I'm used to you playing at this point in the game.

I'm not big on assuming that any little thing between two people is distancing, but I'm starting to think there may be some truth behind Wiz's idea that you and Zaffy are scum-mates.

IDK what to tell you, Pappy. Maybe you and Wiz can get matching tin-foil hats?

why all the crackpot theories and beating around the bush? why not go straight to the source? who was it that made the suspicious comment?

oh yeah, that's right... i vote to lynch JB
