Max room temperature for aquarium

Evaporative coolers are the best thing since sliced bread in dry climates like southern CA or AZ, but in coastal SC, where in the summer you can swim on dry land with all the humidity, AC is where it's at.

I don't know if they're the *best* thing..... Asthmatics and allergy sufferers tend to have symptoms amplified. I'm both, and growing up using swamp coolers before people realized it amplified asthma and/or allergy symptoms sometimes got rough. Central air, while more expensive, sure was more of a relief.

I have exactly the opposite problem. I used to live in a house with a gravity forced air system, which are notorious for drying out the air. A month into the heating season of the first winter, every time I breathed it sounded like a bong bubbling. I almost presented at the hospital because I thought I had pneumonia. Then a friend in the HVAC biz filled me in on the nature of the system. I went out, bought a humidifier and a day later I birthed a few Jellyfish and was fine from then on.

Thanks for sharing Subrosa next time consider not doing so.

I've got 4 tanks in my garage. Even if it's 100+ degrees in there the tank don't break 85. Then again the humidity is very low and the evaporation is high.

What size aquariums are you planning to put into that shed? I think deep tanks would be advantages over shallow tanks as they will have a more pronounced temperature thermocline. When it gets really hot the fish can hang down at the bottom where the temp will be cooler.
