Does anyone know how long do black skirt tetras live? I thought their life span was about 2-3 years but I have 1 that is in its 5th year. I had bought 6 of them. This one is the only surviving one.

It seems most freshwater schooling fish have lifespans in the 2-3 year range. That said, there are many instances of individuals blowing that away.

Maybe in the wild. I have not added Cardinalss since I first lost my job, and that was over 7 years ago. So my Cardinals are at least 7 years+ old.

No but congrats on that there fish ! I was always amazed at how long some of my fish lasted , both salt water and fresh. 5,6,7,8 years for some.
