Battery powered gravel vacs

Difference of opinions...there are tanks where the build up is ok depending on the stock, plant load, maintenance schedule, etc. Others prefer a cleaner look...
True. I just can't stand if the water gets stirred around and water gets cloudy.
 
Use a smaller diameter gravel vac for more suction with less water loss, even just remove the hard plastic vacuum piece. I have used an airline hose before to to do mid week cleaning on a bare bottom tank too, VERY little water lost there but slightly time consuming.

Did the airline hose thing today. Time consuming but works wonderfully. Picks up all the small grains of sand from my other tanks that i could never completely get rid of. Thanks for that.
