Thanks for that. That's perfect!! The only issue is the sump size for both a pump and heater (s). As far as check valves go, there have to be high flow/volume check valves. I don't know much about these but aren't the hoses that feed the sump at least 1" in diameter? I would assume a check valve that size would be unfazed by sand. With that I only have rock, no sand. I could see debris or other items getting in there but I hope the intake has some type of screening system on it to prevent this. Would a wet/dry like this be acceptable for the load I will have on it? I don't really plan to get any more fish as the fish I have have been pretty brutal throughout the years and over the last year or so these are the guys who have settled in and survived w/ each other. I do have a few mating pairs (One I think is red devils) and the other is a huge Cuban cichlid and I forget what the other is. As far as having a tank drilled and location, what do you guys recommend? I'd like to conceal things as much as possible.
Hey guys I think I'm going to go w/ the Aqueon 210 w/ either the Eshopps WD-300CS or the Aqueon proflex model 4. What do you guys think about that? I will then need to figure out what pump and heaters to use. The aqueon 210 will have two overflow boxes do you think these two wet/dry filters and the overflows on the tank are good enough to allow enough flow to filter my setup? What GPH pump would you guys recommend? Any favorite brands? I've read that something aqueon (Not sure if It was due to a bulkhead OD reduction or the filer itself) have a flow issue. Would that affect me w/ my setup? I'm also considering using two smaller pumps as I have two feeds as well as two returns. What do you guys think about that?
Anyone else have any input? After a ton of research I'm looking at a finnex 800w heater w/ controller, a mag18 (1800 gph) pump and either an Aqueon Proflex Model 4 34503 or Eshopps WD-300CS wet/dry filter. I like to think I did enough research but I could very well have missed something here.
If I wasn't so green w/ these setups I may take one on as I love a project. I'd definitely have to have everything cut for me as I don't have the ability to cut a perfectly square piece of acrylic (or anything for that matter). Seem simple enough to make w/ just the media, some partitions and egg crate. For the first time I want to have something I know will function properly.
