I know bunches of experienced aquarists who have used these without issue. If you go to That Fish Place in Lancaster PA they use them to keep fish/inverts separated from others especially in the SW section.

My personal experience was to keep a mantis shrimp separate from fish and inverts in a SW tank, it didn't alter water parameters but didn't do a good job at containing the Mantis either.

And, yes, great looking setup. Good, inexpensive use of space to keep all the shrimp separate and their lines true.
